    Somerset 170-4 v Yorks

The White Rose stranglehold remains in place at Taunton.

There have been 11 overs this morning and we have yet to see a boundary.

Great work by Jack White, George Hill and Jordan Thompson.

  2. Postpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 82-2

Khurram Shahzad is in the attack for Notts and Freddie McCann takes a body blow off a well-directed bumper.

    He is fine to continue.

He pushes subsequent length balls defensively into the off side.

Maiden over. The innings gap is exactly 100.

  3. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 160-5

Dan Worrall angles one into right-hander Will Young and he topples forward off balance as the ball crashes into his pads.

Big appeal from the cordon but the umpire adjudges that is sliding down leg side, and he's probably right.

Young survives. Surrey's lead is 86.

  4. 'Hill will be happy it wasn't called a no ball'published at 11:16 British Summer Time 9 September

    Leics v Glos 440-8

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Lewis Hill will be very happy that it wasn't called no-ball having taken a super catch down at long leg from what was a no-ball yesterday but not this time.

That was still a decent effort, it was in the air a long time.

  5. 50 runs

for Will Youngpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 160-5

Another pull shot for Will Young off Gus Atkinson, another boundary, this time a four, and it takes Kiwi batter Will Young to a half-century on debut from 120 deliveries.

Five fours and that six earlier in the over.

Doing a fine job as he steps in for compatriot Tom Latham for this block of matches.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 9 September

Van der Gugten lbw Harrison 33 (Glamorgan 413-8 v Northants)

Beautifully bowled leg break from Calvin Harrison.

Drifting in, pitching on leg before turning and striking the pad in front of off stump.

Too good for Timm van der Gugten.

It feels too little and too late for Northants.

Now James Harris will have a bat.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 113.3 overs

    M Taylor c Hill b van Beek 26 (Leics v Glos 440-8)

Breakthrough for Leicestershire as Matt Taylor tries to pull a short ball from Logan van Beek, gets underneath it and Lewis Hill takes the catch.

Taylor added 58 with Zaman Akhter, who has now been joined by Josh Shaw.

  8. 6 runs

for Will Youngpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 155-5

Gus Atkinson bangs one in short and Will Young swivels for a pull shot, getting a top edge which sends the ball sailing over the long leg rope for a maximum, taking him to 47*.

Bears trail by 91 with five wickets standing.

  9. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 83-5 v Hants 226

South African left arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin is in the attack and John Simpson sweeps the ball past deep square for four.

The next ball is smacked down the hill over Keith Barker for six.

    Valuable runs for Sussex.

  10. Essex increase their lead over Durhampublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex v Durham 333.

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Essex were the team above Durham at the start of this week, with 12 points separating the two in their relegation battle.

But on a track which looks like a really good batting surface, Durham were all out for 333. They had been 189-1 yesterday. I don't think they got enough runs on the board in this first innings.

It means Essex have taken three bowling points to Durham's two batting points, so they are now 13 ahead, albeit there's still a long way to go in this game.

Jamie Porter did the damage just after tea yesterday and was on a hat-trick at one point. He took the final wicket today, bowling Callum Parkinson for a fourth ball duck. Porter finished with figures of 4-77. Four Durham players failed to get a run!

However, they have struggled to bowl teams out this year and have only two main strike bowlers in Matty Potts and Ben Raine.

Sam Conners is playing, but has only featured in one Championship match this season, so they really have their work cut out here.

From a spinning point of view there's Callum Parkinson and part-timer Colin Ackermann.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 9 September

    Kent 393 v Lancs 37-2

A Spitfire has flown over the Spitfire Ground St Lawrence in the past few minutes, even performing a roll in the sky.

It's inspired Kent to a positive start to the morning, picking up Keaton Jennings (17) and Josh Bohannon for a five-ball duck, both caught by 18-year-old Ben Dawkins with Matt Quinn and Joey Evison getting one apiece.

  12. wicket

WICKET Tribe b Procter 206published at 11:09 British Summer Time 9 September

    Glamorgan 409-7 v Northants

Luke Procter strikes and Asa Tribe falls just short of the Glamorgan record score of 229 made by Billy Root.

An outstanding innings nonetheless and well deserving of a generous round of applause.

Worryingly for Northants, the ball keeps low, beating the bat and flattening the off stump.

    Mason Crane is in next.

  13. Postpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 4-0 v Durham 333

Essex's first scoring shot comes after 11 balls, a lovely punch down the ground from Paul Walter off Matt Potts for a boundary.

  14. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 149-5

Big appeal from Gus Atkinson as he comes around the wicket to Dan Mousley, crashing into the pads, but it's outside the line and Mousley scampers a leg bye.

Mousley begins the next over with a glance to the fine leg boundary off a loose ball from Dan Worrall.

The Surrey lead is down to 97, Warwickshire have five wickets left... you can feel the tension, despite the glorious autumn sunshine.

  15. Postpublished at 110 overs

    Leics v Glos 432-7

Zaman Akhter and Matt Taylor post a 50 partnership at Grace Road as the latter punches Rishi Patel down to mid-off for a single.

Division Tow leaders Leicestershire have to settle for two bowling points from this innings - the visitors earn four batting points.

  16. 200 runs

200 for Asa Tribepublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 9 September

    Glamorgan 404-6 v Northants

    Asa TribeImage source, Getty Images

A maiden double century for the young opener.

How good is he going to be going forward?

293 balls with 30 fours and two sixes in 388 minutes of batting.

He reaches the landmark with an easy four glanced fine off a leg side by from Justin Broad.

  17. 'Great delivery from Abbott'published at 11:03 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 70-5 v Hants 226

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It felt it was only a matter of time before Kyle Abbott was going to pick up another wicket.

    It was a great delivery.

The wicket is still doing a little bit, it hasn't really changed much since yesterday. There was a bit of seam movement there, odd bit bit of swing but not much but mainly a bit of seam.

I think we can expect wickets to fall fairly regularly.

  18. ESSEX BEGIN REPLYpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 0-0 v Durham 333

Dean Elgar, back from a month in the garden, and Paul Walter open up for Essex, with Ben Raine taking the new ball for the visitors.

  19. Glamorgan pass 400 at Wantage Roadpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 9 September

    Glamorgan 400-6 v Northants

No early breakthrough for the hosts and Glamorgan still have a chance of maximum batting bonus points.

The team secures the fourth one in 103.2 overs with an edged four by Asa Tribe that runs between keeper and first slip off Justin Broad.

They all count and Tribe hasn't played many loose shots in this marathon knock.

The partnership with Timm van der Gugten is worth 74.

  20. Postpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 143-5

Slow going at The Oval as Warwickshire dig-in.

Will Young has moved to 40* from 112 balls while it takes Dan Mousley 10 balls to get off the mark, albeit with a lovely square drive to the rope off a wider one from Dan Worrall.
