50 for Freddie McCannpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 96-2

    92 balls with six fours.

That's his fifth score of 50 or more with a best of 138 and an average of just over 44.

He has shown a lot of promise.

  2. GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 120.4 overs

    Leics v Glos 482

Fun, fun, fun at Grace Road.

Ian Holland starts a new over and Ajeet Singh Dale produces an inside-out slog over mid-off for four.

A single follows before Zaman Akhter makes room to club the Leicestershire skipper back over his head for a two-bounce boundary.

That's the end of the innings though as he edges the next to the keeper and is out for 64 off 79 balls.

  3. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 92-2

More excellent bowling without reward for Khurram Shahzad, who has now bowled seven maiden overs out of a total of 11.

Freddie McCann misses out on a leg stump half volley off Matthew Waite which he flicks on the bounce to mid wicket.

He'll get runs this time though with a slightly miscued drive to extra cover for one.

Joe Clarke is down the track with a drive and a miss.

    Just one from the over.

The Pears are doing a good holding job but they need wickets.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 9 September

    Mousley c Pope b Clark 19 - Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 174-6

Class from Jordan Clark, lulling Dan Mousley into a rhythm on off stump and then getting one to move away from the left-hander, finding the outside edge and flashing a catch to Ollie Pope at second slip.

Michael Booth comes to the crease with Bears 72 in arrears, Will Young 54* at the other end and four wickets remaining.

    Game on a knife edge.

  5. 'Simpson can't believe it'published at 11:41 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 91-6 v Hants 226

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

John Simpson can't believe it, it was almost a long hop down the leg side and he looked to flick the ball away down to fine leg and all he succeeded in doing was nicking the ball through to Ben Brown.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 9 September

    Simpson c Brown b Fortuin 15 (Sussex 91-6 v Hants 226)

Disaster for Sussex as the club captain departs for a catch down the leg side.

John Simpson was trying to work the ball round the corner and he's nicked it to opposition captain and keeper Ben Brown.

Bjorn Fortuin has his first scalp for Hampshire and now he'll bowl to Jack Carson.

  7. Postpublished at 56 overs

    Somerset 180-4 v Yorks

    The shackles are finally broken.

Lewis Goldsworthy pierces the off-side for field for a boundary off George Hill and then cover drives Jordan Thompson for four at the start of the next over.

  8. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 11-1 v Durham 333

Tom Westley gets off the mark with a lovely stroke through mid-wicket, up on his toes, timed perfectly, and picks up Essex's second boundary of the morning.

Raine has 1-6 from four overs, that shot has ruined his early figures.

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 9 September

Josh de Caires is going well for Middlesex at Lord's - he is 30 not out and they are 58-1 in the 22nd over against Derbyshire.

Lancashire have also passed 50 in their game with Kent - but have lost Keaton Jennings and Josh Bohannon in the process. Luke Wells is 21 not out and they are 51-2 in the 21st.

Four batting points for Glamorgan, who are 433-8 at Northampton, with Mason Crane 20 not out and James Harris on three.

  10. Postpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 89-2

A drive and a miss from outside off stump from Freddie McCann and the ball goes through to keeper Gareth Roderick.

    Frustration for bowler Matthew Waite.

    Maiden over.

  11. Postpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 172-5

Dan Mousley has taken his time to settle in this morning but he's produced a couple of lovely strokes for four off Jordan Clark, the first through the covers, the second down the ground to long-off.

The deficit is down to 74 and Bears are 78 shy of a bonus point.

  12. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 91-5 v Hants 226

Keith Barker is over the wicket to John Simpson, who defends down the ground.

Simpson drives on the back foot into the off side but doesn't clear the field this time.

A leg side ball is glanced fine for a single.

  13. Postpublished at 117.2 overs

    Leics v Glos 463-9

Zaman Akhter is going for his shots now.

He square cuts Logan van Beek for four and when the bowler tries a bouncer with his next delivery, he calmly lifts it over the wicketkeeper's head for another boundary.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 9 September

    Walter c McKinney b Raine 4 - Essex 7-1 v Durham 333

Paul Walter goes fishing outside stump but it's Ben Raine who's landed a big one.

Walter edges into the bread basket of Ben McKinney at first slip and Durham have a useful breakthrough.

Tom Westley is the new batter, joining Dean Elgar, who has three singles from 23 deliveries faced.

  15. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 89-2

    Close!

Freddie McCann is late on a defensive prod off Khurram Shahzad and the ball is squeezed down to the ground in front of the off stump.

The third ball is cut away from very close to the body for one.

How has he not taken a wicket yet?

10 probing overs for 14 to date.

  16. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 7-0 v Durham 333

I suspected Essex might want to make a quick start, in pursuit of batting points, with a mind on the distinctly iffy forecast for the second half of this match, and with the aim of extending their lead over Durham in the table.

It's not working out quite that way. The conditions might be aiding the bowlers, with clouds sweeping across Chelmsford intermittently, but there have been just five scoring shots in the opening six overs, four of them singles.

Ben Raine's opening three overs have cost two singles.

  17. 50 runs

for Zaman Akhterpublished at 116.2 overs

    Leics v Glos 450-9

Zaman Akhter flays the first delivery of a new Ian Holland over through the covers for four as Gloucestershire reach 450.

He tucks the next one for a single and reaches his second 50 of the season - and third of his career - from 72 balls faced.

  18. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 89-5 v Hants 226

Keith Barker is back in the Hampshire attack and he gets the ball to deviate and bounce over Tom Alsop's off stump.

Very few easy runs this morning.

The third ball is a touch fuller and driven through point for two.

The fifth ball is driven straight into the middle stump of the non-striker's end but mercifully for Sussex no Hampshire player touched the ball on the way and Simpson was in his crease.

    Barker goes round the wicket.

Two more driven into the leg side to end the over.

  19. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 162-5

Jordan Clark is tossed the ball by Rory Burns for the first time this morning, replacing Gus Atkinson.

His third ball is a beauty, beating the edge of Will Young's blade, causing the Kiwi to wander away from his crease to have a ponder and get his heat rate back down.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 116 overs

    Shaw b van Beek 4 (Leics v Glos 446-8)

    Spectacular.

Superb angled delivery from Logan van Beek is far too good for Josh Shaw, whose off stump goes cartwheeling back several metres.

Ajeet Singh Dale comes out to join Zaman Akhter - both of whom will be leaving Gloucestershire at the end of the season.
