  4. Postpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 26-0 v Notts 207

Close call for Jake Libby on 15, who survives an LBW shout off Dillon Pennington in the eighth over.

Hit in line but that ball appears to be angling past leg.

Josh Tongue is really firing it in from the other end and Rehaan Edavalath is well forward to defend.

He tries to cut a short ball that follows him and nearly brushes his eyebrows. No run.

    The Pears lead by one.

  5. 'A lovely afternoon to have a bat'published at 16:08 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 74-0 v Warwickshire 248

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

I've seen enough of this Surrey squad over the past few years to know that the one thing that they are very good at is spotting an opportunity in the game.

Now if they could get that run rate up a touch in this last session - not by doing anything out of the ordinary - it would put all the pressure back on Warwickshire.

It's a lovely afternoon to have a bat as well now.

  6. Second batting point for Somersetpublished at 100 overs

    Somerset 300-5 v Yorks

Tom Abell takes the pace off the ball with soft hands as he pushes Dan Moriarty to point and jogs through for a single to take Somerset's total to 300. He is now 71 not out.

  7. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Essex 214-3 v Durham 333

Matt Critchley is in the Essex driving seat after tea, with Dean Elgar content to sit on his 100* where he has been since before tea.

Critchley has moved to 41* with a couple of nice boundary strokes and Essex are 36 shy of a first batting bonus point.

  8. Evening session starts at Northamptonpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 467v Northants 165-3

Saif Zaib will take strike first, facing Timm van der Gugten.

    He's six not out.

James Sales is at the other end on a single.

  9. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 122-7

Keith Barker has one hand off the bat as he works the first ball of the Jaydev Unadkat over leg side.

Shot! Round the wicket, too full and stroked through cover for four by James Fuller.

    Single steered to cover.

  10. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 16:03 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 116-7

Keith Barker will face Jaydev Unadkat first up in this session on 14 with James Fuller on 17.

    The lead is 220.

  11. Hampshire 'still in box seat'published at 16:02 British Summer Time

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 116-7

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

An all action afternoon session with Hampshire scoring 116 and Sussex taking seven wickets.

Hampshire are still in the box seat, leading by 220 on a wicket offering plenty of assistance to both seamers and spinners.

With neither side earning any batting bonus points, the loser of this game will only take three points from the match and have them anxiously looking towards the relegation zone with two games to play

  12. Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 67-0 v Warwickshire 248

A leg-side clip from Rory Burns off Michael Booth picks up another four. He and Dom Sibley have looked thoroughly unruffled in these 24 overs.

Warwickshire need to break this partnership, soon.

If they can conjure a win they will be in the title fight. Anything else and a podium finish will be the best they can hope for.

  13. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 20-0 v Notts 207

Rehaan Edavalath works Josh Tongue leg side for one and Jake Libby drives on the other side of the wicket for one more.

A decent over from Tongue, making the batters play at nearly every ball with good pace and accuracy.

  14. 'Goldsworthy has justified his return'published at '

    Somerset 298-5 v Yorks

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Lewis Goldsworthy swept once too often and Rob Bailey wasted no time at all in lifting the finger of doom.

Goldsworthy has certainly justified his return to Somerset's County Championship side.

  15. Resumption at The Ovalpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 63-0 v Warwickshire 248

Michael Booth takes the ball after the interval, with Rory Burns on strike, picking up a couple from the first ball of the session to move to 35* and the lead past 60.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 97.2 overs

Goldsworthy lbw Moriarty 65 (Somerset 298-5 v Yorks)

Yorkshire badly needed that wicket - Lewis Goldsworthy tries to sweep a ball from spinner Dan Moriarty and is leg before.

He put on 143 with Tom Abell, who is 69 not out and has been joined by Kasey Aldridge.

  17. Postpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time

    Worcs 182 & 18-0 v Notts 207

Dillon Pennington is into his third over and Jake Libby pushes defensively into the off side.

The fourth ball is pulled to mid on off the toe end of the bat and there's no run.

Two driven sweetly to deep cover.

Libby plays and misses outside off. The innings gap is down to seven.

Josh Tongue replaces Mo Abbas at the Diglis End.

  18. 100 partnership for Leicestershirepublished at 44 overs

    Leics 191-3 v Glos 482

Excellent timing by Shan Masood, who guides a wide ball from Ajeet Singh Dale through the covers for four and brings up a century stand with Lewis Hill.

Singh Dale overpitches at the end of the over and can't get down quick enough to prevent Masood's straight drive from running between his legs and away for another boundary.

  19. 'Champions back in charge'published at 15:51 British Summer Time

    Surrey 246 & 61-0 v Warwickshire 248

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Three overs before tea, Alex Davies turned to Rob Yates and Dan Mousley, introducing spin for the first time in the match. It was an indication that the rhythm of the game had changed, after four sessions in which the battery of seamers on each team had been dictating terms.

Rory Burns and Dom Sibley put together 61 without seeming to be hurried at any point, making much more convincing progress than Surrey managed even when travelling at five an over yesterday morning. The ball was no longer flying off the outside edge or snaking into the front pad as it had done regularly in each side’s first innings. The champions were back in charge.

They had been irritated for half an hour after lunch by Warwickshire’s last pair, after Dan Worrall finally prised out Will Young, well caught by Ben Foakes. Ollie Hannon-Dalby indulged himself in one cover drive, while Nathan Gilchrist was more daring, and their 32-run stand nudged Warwickshire into the lead just before Hannon-Dalby played round a full toss.

It gave the Bears a spring in their step when they came out to field, but not for long.

  20. Back under way at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time

    Essex 196-3 v Durham 333

Dean Elgar is 100* with Matt Critchley on 24* as Essex seek to whittle away the 137-run deficit.

The sun is still out, for now, but there are showers bubbling up to the north of London, which will be worth keeping an eye on.
