    That's how to start a semi-final!

Gerwyn Price breaks in the opening leg with a marvellous 135 checkout.

With Luke Littler on 145, Price goes 25, treble 20, bullseye to ensure the world champ doesn't get a look at it.

    Price v Littler

It's all smiles on the oche. Earlier wins for Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price mean the pressure is off both to an extent.

Littler has pretty much sealed top spot and Price has already increased his lead over Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen behind him.

An interesting and niche statistic for you all.

All eight players tonight have averaged below 100 in their quarter-final performances, with each match lasting either 10 or 11 legs each.

That's the first time that has happened since Nottingham in the 2023 season, 26 months ago.

Chris Dobey's 99.43 was the best of the round.

A quick recap of those last-eight ties then. No 100-plus averages and no one quite at their best but it made for some compelling contests...

    • Rob Cross 5-6 Gerwyn Price
    • Nathan Aspinall 4-6 Luke Littler
    • Michael van Gerwen 4-6 Luke Humphries
    • Stephen Bunting 6-5 Chris Dobey

Credit to Chris Dobey for playing like that but also to Stephen Bunting for being off it but then coming back to with.

A lot of players have been off tonight but I assume it will change.

Stephen Bunting, where has that just come from?

Bunting was 5-2 down. He is bottom of the league and had only won five out of 17 matches this season in the Premier League.

A bull to take out 121 and in doing so, has all but dampened Chris Dobey's hopes of reaching the last four.

Mathematically, Bunting and Dobey can still get there, but both would have to perform miracles across these final three nights to do so.

    Result: Bunting 6-5 Dobey

It's one of those games where Chris Dobey comes out on top on all the statistics other than the one that really counts...

He averaged 99.43 to Stephen Bunting's 97.46, had more 100-plus visits and equalled The Bullet's four 180s.

Dobey was also superior on the doubles, 50% to Bunting's 40%. But it's the Liverpudlian through to face Luke Humphries in the semis.

    Bunting 6-5 Dobey

Stephen Bunting has won it from 5-2 down! Fantastic stuff!

A pair of 140s helped The Bullet take the advantage in the leg against the darts but a 180 followed by a 136 saw Chris Dobey grab it back.

Hollywood left himself double top so Bunting had to get the 121.

Treble 20, 11 and bullseye to win it!

We're going to a decider. That seemed as good as impossible a few legs ago.

A massive leg for both men and any hopes of a late-season push.

    Superb leg from Stephen Bunting.

Double six for a 14-dart hold and suddenly, The Bullet is back on level terms.

    Is the comeback on?

Stephen Bunting leaves himself double 18 but nearly doesn't get a look at it as Chris Dobey threatens to take out 144.

But he misses double 12 and Bunting just about gets double nine to break.

The Bullet has the darts with the chance to force a decider...

Chris Dobey is just going about his business. He's doing a lot right.

You won't look back at the performance and think 'wow, that was incredible' because he has done it a lot over the years but it has been a really professional job.

  18. Dobey closing inpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 8 May

    Bunting 2-5 Dobey

Chris Dobey is averaging just shy of 100 and is on the brink of victory now.

As for Stephen Bunting, he's just not got going at all tonight.

    Bunting 2-4 Dobey

    Jonty Colman
BBC Sport at First Direct Arena

After six perfect darts, Chris Dobey booed himself when he missed out on a seventh consecutive treble 20.

A 11-dart break of throw will more than suffice though and he is two legs from an important victory.

  20. Dobey breaks with 11-darterpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 8 May

    Bunting 2-4 Dobey

Maximums from both players to start the leg but it's Chris Dobey who is able to back it up with another 180.

He can't get the nine-darter but does hit tops for an 11 - and a crucial break.
