    Cross v Price

Gerwyn Price talking to Sky Sports: "I wouldn't say I am sitting pretty, I am still under pressure. I need another win tonight to ease the pressure over the next two weeks. It will be a difficult game but I am playing well.

"Rob has played really well in the Premier League but he just hasn't got the results, hopefully that is the same tonight."

    Cross v Price

Rob Cross talking to Sky Sports: "I am playing the seven best players every week - some things go for you and some don't.

"My game is in a really good place, I've been consistent throughout. I've really enjoyed it and it is still most to play for."

We start tonight with a big game in the race for a play-off as Rob Cross takes on Gerwyn Price.

A quarter-final defeat by Michael van Gerwen last week was a hammer blow to Cross' chances and he needs to be almost perfect from here to make the top four.

Price is in a far better position, sitting third, three points clear of fifth, and a fourth nightly win of the campaign would surely be enough to secure his place at the O2 at the end of the month.

Before tonight's eight Premier League stars get into action, three fortunate fans played for the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas.

Pictured in the white shirt here, 'Tinny' won the competition with a top score of 101 from three darts.

He celebrated by saying "we are Premier League" to the Leeds crowd following Leeds United's promotion, but it was met with more boos than you would have expected.

Perhaps there are not as many Leeds fans in this sold out crowd as we expected.

  6. How does the Premier League darts work?published at 19:13 British Summer Time 8 May

Every Thursday, the eight players go head-to-head in a straight knockout tournament. So, each player will be entered at the quarter-final stage, before moving to the semi-finals and then a final.

These matches are all played over the best of 11 legs (or games of darts).

Players take home points from each of these rounds. The winner of the night gets five points, the runner-up three points, and each semi-finalist wins two points.

All eight players are re-entered into the tournament for the next round on the following Thursday.

The players will meet each other once at the quarter-final stage from weeks one to seven, and then again in weeks nine to 15. The matches in weeks eight and 16 will be played based on position in the league at that point.

The four players at the top of the table by the end of night 16 qualify for the final play-offs, which take place on Thursday, 29 May.

The semi-finals of the play-offs are played over 19 legs, while the winner is crowned in a final match played across the best of 21 legs.

  7. 'Massive pressure on Van Gerwen and Aspinall'published at 19:12 British Summer Time 8 May

I am drawn in to Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall in the next three weeks.

It is not out of the question they both lose tonight and then they play each other next week and may face each other in the final week.

It is a pressure Van Gerwen is not used to, but it is a pressure Aspinall is used to. He has come unstuck the past two times though but he'll be looking to rectify that.

There is massive pressure on those two.

  8. How things standpublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 8 May

As Jonty mentions, Luke Littler is the first player officially through to finals night after his record fifth nightly win last week in Birmingham.

Luke Humphries is almost certain to join him but the battle for the last two spots looks set to go down to the wire with just three points separating Gerwyn Price in third and Michael van Gerwen in fifth...

Bank holiday weekend was a memorable one for Leeds United fans.

Manor Solomon’s late goal for the Whites on Saturday at Plymouth Argyle saw them win the Championship title in the final minutes of the season.

On Monday, the team showed off their trophy in an open top bus parade through the city and one man looking to continue those celebrations this evening is Leeds fan and darts' world number one, Luke Humphries.

Cool Hand won the night in Leeds 12 months ago but has failed to pick up a night victory since Exeter 10 weeks ago.

With Luke Littler already guaranteed of a place at finals night, the stage is set for Humphries to carry on Leeds’ title party and a win of his own.

The city of Leeds has been celebrating for a couple of weeks now.

Following Leeds United's promotion to the top flight, it seems only fitting that the Premier League roadshow is in Yorkshire's largest city this week.

As ever, eight of the world's leading players will face off to try and win the night.

And with just three weeks left, it's crunch time in the race to make the top four and qualify for finals night.

    Let the party c̶o̶m̶m̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ continue...
