    Michael Smith v Rob Cross

It's a huge game for Michael Smith given the results we've seen tonight.

He needs to keep himself in touch with the top four.

As for Rob Cross, his slim chances of getting to the play-offs have pretty much been wiped out before he's even played tonight.

Rob Cross has played well a lot of the time but he just hasn't been able to convert those into wins.

The ship has pretty much sailed for him now, he'll just want to pick up wins and be a difficult opponent.

With the weeks running out, it feels like now or never for Rob Cross if he is to make the play-offs.

The 2018 world champ is down in seventh after a terrible run that has seen him lose six Premier League matches in a row.

He is now 13 points back from fourth and faces an uphill battle to qualify for finals night.

His quarter-final opponent Michael Smith is also on the outside looking in but started the evening a rather more salvageable two points behind Michael van Gerwen in fourth at the start of the night.

That is now up to four points back so the pressure is on.

If he can match his efforts in Rotterdam last week, when he made the final, or go one better then he'll be back to where he wants to be by the end of the night.
