Manchester United fan Luke Littler has received a great reception wherever he has been so far in the Premier League.

Not so much in Liverpool tonight but he takes the boos before he is announced in good spirits - the boos themselves are less audible once he actually begins his walk-on.

It's a good response for Gerwyn Price, though! The Iceman gets a proper roar when he is announced.

Gerwyn Price talking to Sky Sports: "I know I'm playing well enough to win nights. I have been unlucky to not win a night yet. I'll keep plugging away and if I can get two or three nightly wins then happy days.

"I don't see why I can't qualify. I'm playing well enough, I just need the rub of the green."

  16. I'm 'going to expect the worse' from the crowd - Littlerpublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 25 April

    Luke Littler v Gerwyn Price

Luke Littler talking to Sky Sports, about whether supporting Manchester United means he'll get a negative reception in Liverpool: "I'm just going to expect the worse and if it isn't that bad I'll take it as a positive.

"I don't want to say I am safe for a play-off spot because it is tight at the top and tight for the top four. I jus want to get some more points on the board.

"I just want to get the points so I don't have to pick up next week or the week after."

We've got a belter to start as Luke Littler looks to get back to winning ways against Gerwyn Price, who is in desperate need of points to have a chance of making the top four.

After making three finals in a row, winning the first two, Littler fell at the first hurdle last week in Rotterdam as he lost 6-3 to Michael Smith.

The 17-year-old is still level on points with leader Luke Humphries in the table, though, and is well placed to make it to the O2 next month.

The same cannot be said of Price, who is sixth, 10 points back from Michael van Gerwyn in fourth.

Price lost a final-leg decider to Michael Smith in the semis last week and is still searching for his first nightly week of 2024.

He has made two finals, including in Manchester in week 10, where he was beaten by Littler.

Time is running out and anything sort of making the final might signal the end of the Welshman's play-off hopes.

The top two are still catchable, nothing is a given.

In previous years 24 points has been enough [to reach the play-offs], but that is nowhere near enough this year.
