Our fourth quarter-final tonight sees Stephen Bunting continue his search for a first Premier League win of the season as he faces Nathan Aspinall.

The Asp is only a point off the play-offs after winning five points in the last couple of weeks, and had a nice run to the UK Open quarter-finals at the weekend.

The Bullet has had ton-plus averages in his last two games and generally played well throughout but has come away empty handed - and is in danger of being cast adrift if he can't turn things around.

Can he get his first win here?

That was a brilliant nine-darter from Luke Humphries - well they're all brilliant aren't they but he just threw all of those nine arrows so easily and so quickly, once the seventh treble 20 went in it never looked in doubt.

But credit to Rob Cross, who responded superbyl and ended up with a fine 111.19 average and seven 180s - he'd only hit 11 of them in four weeks before tonight.

Cross was also hot on the doubles hitting six out of 10 - that's a deadly combination even against a men who throws a nine-darter.

Rob Cross hails from Hastings just an hour along the south coast from Brighton, and he hopes familiar surroundings can help him exact revenge on Luke Humphries.

The 2018 world champion had the world number one on the ropes last week before a stunning finish from Cool Hand Luke - and Cross is still kicking himself for missing chances to seal the deal.

“I always enjoy playing Luke,” said Cross. “I missed a trick against him last week, missing four doubles in one leg, but that’s part and parcel of the game.

“We usually seem to perform against each other, so I can’t wait to get up there and hopefully get over the line.

“It would be absolutely fantastic to get the win tonight. I have some fond memories here. I love Brighton, it’s a special place.

“I will have a few friends in the crowd. They have messaged me, so hopefully I get plenty of support and the right result!”
