    Littler v Van Gerwen

Luke Littler versus Michael van Gerwen is a repeat of the World Championship final, of course.

It's also a chance for Littler to right the wrongs of last week where he threw away a 4-0 lead to lose to the Dutchman in Liverpool.

    Result: Price 3-6 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen ends with an average of 91.98 - and it would have been significantly higher but for some less than clinical finishing.

The same goes for Gerwyn Price's lacklustre 80.64.

The pair shared seven 180s - five of them for MVG - but were a combined nine for 48 on the doubles.

Van Gerwen was six of 22 for 27.3%, Price three of 16 for 18.8%. Not pretty.

    Breaking

    Price 3-6 Van Gerwen

Match darts come and go for Michael van Gerwen - seven of them, in fact - but he finishes it off eventually!

The Green Machine shakes off misses on tops, double 10 and double five to hit double two.

A superb display from Van Gerwen... right up until he had darts at double to break.

Regardless, he will end the night in the top four and has a chance to claim his first nightly win of the year.

    Price 3-5 Van Gerwen

If Michael van Gerwen continues to dominant like this on throw then those misses to break won't matter.

He quickly moves clear of Gerwyn Price in the leg and despite a couple more missed doubles, hits double two to close in on the final.

One more leg will do it for Mighty Mike.

  8. Postpublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 3-4 Van Gerwen

Another big chance to get the double break goes begging for Michael van Gerwen.

Three darts at tops miss the mark and Gerwyn Price holds throw with his 17th dart of the leg. On double two.

Just how he planned it, I'm sure...

Michael van Gerwen looks in the mood.

  10. Postpublished at 22:30 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 2-4 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen would no doubt like another break but having got one, the main thing is holding throw.

He's doing that comfortably at the moment.

    Double six for a 12-darter.

  11. Price takes out 110published at 22:29 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 2-3 Van Gerwen

Pressure on... and Gerwyn Price delivers!

Michael van Gerwen only gets 28 when needing 82 but even so Gezzy has 110 to stop the Dutchman having another opportunity.

Treble 19, 13, tops and Price is back to within one.

    Price 1-3 Van Gerwen

    Mark Webster

This is very business-like from Michael van Gerwen so far tonight.

  13. MVG takes out 118published at 22:26 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 1-3 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen restores that two-leg lead.

After a 180 leaves him a 118 checkout, he calmly takes it out.

No big celebration after hitting tops, he knows there is work still to be done.

  14. Postpublished at 22:24 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 1-2 Van Gerwen

    That's better from Gerwyn Price.

The Welshman hits his first 180, again establishes a big lead in the leg and this time finds double top at the first time of asking.

    It's a 13-darter for Price as well.

  15. Postpublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 0-2 Van Gerwen

No such problems for Michael van Gerwen after a similarly dominant leg on throw.

The Dutchman finds the bed of double 10 for a 13-dart hold.

  16. MVG breakspublished at 22:22 British Summer Time 1 May

    Price 0-1 Van Gerwen

Wow. An absolute steal for Michael van Gerwen.

Gerwyn Price bosses this leg on throw, races down to a finish but then can't hit a double.

Five misses on the outer ring before MVG hits tops to break.

    Price v Van Gerwen

The crowd in Birmingham aren't concerned by the prospect of a late night as they chant Michael van Gerwen's name to the tune of Seven Nation Army.

If the Dutchman needed any more motivation tonight, defeat for Nathan Aspinall means MVG will move back into the top four with a win over Gerwyn Price.

Meanwhile, Price can put a four-point gap between himself and MVG in fifth should be triumph.

  18. Postpublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 1 May

With all these final-leg deciders, it's going to be a late one tonight in Birmingham!

Next up it's Gerwyn Price against Michael van Gerwen, playing for the right to face Luke Littler in the final.

  19. Postpublished at 22:11 British Summer Time 1 May

    Result: Littler 6-5 Aspinall

A remarkable seven 180s in the match for Luke Littler as he finishes with an average of 96.56.

That's marginally down on Nathan Aspinall's 98.16 and The Asp was also more efficient on the doubles - 50% to Littler's 35.3%.

But it's the world champion through to the final with the chance to claim a record-breaking fifth nightly win.

Luke Littler gets the break of throw to win the deciding leg!

The leg was there for Nathan Aspinall but loose darts at key times cost him.

He had a shot at 124 for the match but failed to give himself a look at double.

Littler duly hits double 10 and he goes into his seventh final - and first for five weeks.
