    More on Scott Williams' frustration.

After missing double four the set, he pointed at one of the officials and showed some anger which continued after Rob Cross took the leg.

It appears as if there some issue with the cameras that may have distracted him.

In fairness, that Dave Chisnall v Ricky Evans match took it out of all of us.

Cross needs 161 for the set and leaves 73.

Williams leaves 120 after two bulls in the previous visit. A single 20 allows him the chance to replicate it for the set. He goes bull, 25.

Shaggy is invited to mop up the 25 but splits the doubles eight and four. After missing that, he is furious and Cross takes the leg on double 10.

You feel these two close friends are meeting a couple of rounds earlier than they could well have done.

Today also marks the two-year anniversary of their second-round meeting in 2023, which Cross won 3-1. Will he get the same luck today?

The last match in the second round has the potential to be the tie of the round. Former world champion Rob Cross takes on fellow Englishman Scott Williams.

Cross, the winner in 2018, is a former world number two and starts the tournament as the number five seed.

Williams is unseeded at the tournament but did reach the semi-finals 12 months ago before losing in the semi-finals to current world champion Luke Humphries.

The winner of this match will face Ricardo Pietreczko in the third round. Pietreczko beat Gian van Veen earlier this evening.

Scott Williams is a character on stage and he does like to own it and he needs to bring that sort of attitude if he's going to beat Rob Cross.

He's said in the past he's had too much respect for Cross and the likes of Luke Humphries and he needs to knock that out of himself.

On the Alexandra Palace crowd: "I wish I'd beat Chizzy 3-0, my ticker would be a bit slower. The another 11 months of the year, what am I doing? Apart from my wedding. I must be a Scott Williams prodigy. It must be the gingers. I don't get this reception in my household. Thank you very much. You've made a very fat guy very happy."

On singing with Shaun Williamson: "He follows me on Instagram and wow. How good is this and how good am I? I don't know what to do now."
