Ricky Evans is now rather calm.

A 135 and 140 start from Dave Chisnall is matched by 134 and 137 from RIcky Evans. Excellent from both.

Evans' next visit is a 180 and it gives him six darts at 50 for the set.

The first three leave eight, taking 18 and then halving the 16s and eights.

On 119, Chizzy is left with a bull finish to level the set. After a long pause, he finds 25.

Evans pins double four to go 2-1 up. Thrilling contest.

That is why Dave Chisnall is a champion. He's digging deep.

It's still a tall order though because Ricky Evans will have to be broke again in this set.

Chisnall is just dictating the pace at the moment.

Another 180 from Ricky Evans puts him in a great spot to win the set on his throw.

He gets down to a 164 finish first but only scores 48, with Dave Chisnall on 121 for a break of throw.

20, treble 17 and the bull is just a touch low.

Evans comes back at 116 and almost gets it, just low at double 20.

Chisnall goes for a clean up on 25, doing it in two darts.

A 171 from Ricky Evans, made up of three treble 19s, puts him in a great spot to break throw.

Dave Chisnall's response? A couple of treble ones.

Evans misses two darts at double 16 for the break but after halving it, will come back at double eight.

Rapid pins it with the first attempt for a break of throw.

A 126 set up from Dave Chisnall sets up a 145 finish, but Ricky Evans fires back with his first 180 of the match to leave 71.

Evans is invited to see if off. 13 and 18 land, but the double 20 is halved with a very low dart.

Chizzy halves double 20 with a second miss there before going wide at the 10s.

Evans takes the leg at the same location as Chizzy's last miss.

Ricky Evans will start the third set with the darts.

Interestingly, both sets have been one by whoever has started the set against the darts.

Advantage Dave Chisnall?

Dave Chisnall and Ricky Evans are both averaging north of 100 following those first two sets.

Chizzy is at 100.98 with Evans slightly higher on 101.29.

Evans is more clinical on the doubles, landing four his six chances. Meanwhile, Chizzy has landed five out of 14.

This is brewing into an Ally Pally classic.

Unless we get a drop off from here, Dave Chisnall and Ricky Evans, as far as quality darts are concerned, are putting on a strong contender for one of the matches on the tournament.

Evans gets down to a finish first to break the set, but leaves 75. He will come back as Chisnall only takes 56 off 146.

A stray four from Evans leads to him laying up 40 and Chisnall, needing double five for the set, goes low.

Chizzy gets down to a finish first in an even leg, leaving 44 to hold his throw.

Ricky Evans sets up 36 to tap Chisnall on the shoulder, but Chizzy takes out his checkout in two darts.

The scoring has come down a touch from Dave Chisnall and Ricky Evans after what was an explosive opening set.

Evans gets three darts at 68 for a hold of throw. 20, 16, double 16.

The set is level.

Dave Chisnall starts the second set with the darts in hand and gets himself six darts to a finish.

With a second visit needing 15, Chizzy takes seven before splitting doubles four and two in half.

Evans only gets down to 60 and requiring double one, Chisnall holds his throw.

The Professional Darts Corporation are getting some real use out of Shaun Williamson, who is back on stage during the television advert break.

Ricky Evans is loving it, singing along to "Barry from Eastenders" as he's better known by many.

Ricky Evans is averaging 102.5 but is still quite a way behind Dave Chisnall and his excellent scoring.

Chizzy is averaging 107.95 after the first set. Brilliant darts all round.

Both men have identical 33.3% rates of success on the doubles. Chizzy has landed three out of nine, while Evans is one out of three.
