American archer Tracy Otto has one of the most extraordinary stories of any Paralympian in Paris. In 2019 she was shot and paralysed in a home invasion by a former boyfriend. To keep her busy following the attack, she took up archery - and has fired her way all the way to the Paralympics. You can read her remarkable story here.

Otto was in action this morning in the women's individual W1 category, however she was beaten 124-107 by China's Chen Minyi and missed out on a medal.

The 28-year-old still has a medal chance in Paris however, as part of the USA mixed team. Their event is on Monday, 2 September.

It was also bad news this morning for GB, as Victoria Kingstone also lost in the last eight of the W1, beaten 128-122 by Kim Ok-geum of South Korea.

China's Li Zhangyu has taken the gold the medal by than half a second, finishing with a factored time of 1:03:480.

Liang Weicong, also of China, drops to second and takes the silver medal and bronze, France's Alexandre Leaute.

Jaco van Gass misses out on a second medal in 24 hours, finishing in fourth.

The sheer wall of noise as France's Alexandre Leaute competes at the Paris velodrome is extraordinary. Hundreds of tricolores waving as he raced around the track was quite a sight.

Leaute could not quite match the gold he won yesterday, but has set a new C2 world record in this time trial final and is guaranteed at least a bronze.

There was a few seconds of disappointed silence from the crowd after Leaute just missed out on gold, before he got a rousing and deserved ovation.

France's Alexandre Leaute set a C2 world record in qualifying but like Jaco van Gass, was unable to top qualifying despite his superb run.

Leaute's final run is quick and breaks the C2 world record for the second time today with a factored time of 1:04:207, but falls short of the lead by a tenth of a second.

He is faster than Van Gass, who drops to third with only China's Li Zhangyu, the fastest in qualifying, still to come.

Up fourth is Liang Weicong who makes little mistake in overtaking Jaco van Gass, who drops to the silver medal position.

Liang was more than two seconds clear of Van Gass during the early splits, but that advantage gradually reduced as the run went on, ending seven tenths of a second faster than Van Gass.

With two riders to come, Van Gass needs one of them to be slower than his time in order for him to earn another medal.

There aren't too many events where you can set a new world record - twice - and still not be guaranteed a medal.

Van Gass set the new record for the C3 1,000m time trial in the final, beating the time he set this morning.

But because of the way categories work in the Paralympics, he is also competing against C1 and C2 athletes - three of who were faster than him in qualifying.

All Van Gass can do now is sit, wait, and hope he can hold on to his podium place.

A slower start from Jaco van Gass, but boy, did he make amends later in that time trial.

His time of 1:04.825 breaks the C3 world record, which he set this morning in qualifying, to take a lead by just over a second.

Van Gass is the only C3 rider in this final and there are three riders still to come, but for now at least, Van Gass has the time to beat.
