ParalympicsGB's Steve Bate, speaking to Channel 4 after his silver medal in the men's B 4000m individual pursuit: "We have had a great day and our target coming here was to try to put the Dutch under pressure.

"We have beaten them once on this track and that's because they crashed. They have proven today how good they are. We have put nine months preperation in just for this race, we have raced a PB and we are proud.

"More disappointed for the staff, there's an incredible core group working with us and disappointed we couldn't deliver that gold medal."

An update on Kadeena Cox - I have been told that, after a bad start out of the blocks, she tried to correct herself, slipped and suffered that first corner crash.

While it's devastating for any athlete to suffer something like this in a Paralympic medal final, the good news is that she has not suffered any serious injury.

Hopefully we will see her in the mixed team sprint on Sunday.

  9. From the velodrome to the poolpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 29 August

We'll soon be switching from the velodrome to the pool, where 15 gold medals will be won this evening.

Before we do, we have an update on Kadeena Cox, who suffered a fall in her final earlier, and we'll hear from Steve Bate and Chris Latham after they rode to ParalympicsGB's second medal of the Games.

    Don't go anywhere!

GB's Stephen Bate, with guide Christopher Latham, got in on the world record party in the men's blind 4000m individual pursuit - with a time of 3:56.435.

However the former record holder, Netherlands' Tristan Bangma, snatched the accolade back as he and guide Patrick Bos rode a second quicker than the Brits.

It will be Bate v Bangma in the gold final, where the Brit faces a tough ask to take gold - but it is another guaranteed medal for ParalympicsGB, which is nice.

  19. Who are Steve Bate and Chris Latham?published at 16:08 British Summer Time 29 August

    Men's B 4000m individual pursuit - final

World silver medallists Steve Bate and Chris Latham will attempt to go one better shortly.

These two compete together on a tandem bike, with Bate, 47, visually impaired and Latham, 30, competing as his sighted pilot.

In 2011, Bate, from Moray in Scotland, was diagnosed with a rare eye disorder and has now lost most of his vision.

Two years after his diagnosis, he became the first visually-impaired person to climb El Capitan in California.

He then set his sights on para-cycling and the 2016 Games in Rio. Assisted by pilot Adam Duggleby, he won two golds and a bronze.

At the Tokyo Games in this event, the pair had to settle for silver, missing out on gold to Tristan Bangma and Patrick Bos of the Netherlands.

Accepting this will likely be his last Paralympics, Bate wants to go out on a high with his new sighted pilot.
