Exeter City have completed the signing of striker Sam Parkin, subject to international clearance.

The 32-year-old, who began his career as a trainee at Chelsea, joins on a free transfer from Scottish Premier League side St Mirren.

Parkin, who won the Scottish League Cup with the Saints, also had spells at St Johnstone and Queen of the South.

The former Luton and Ipswich frontman also spent three seasons at Swindon, scoring 68 times in 126 appearances.

Parkin told Exeter City's website: "Exeter were looking to bring in a front player and fortunately, after having a meeting with the manager and a really good chat, I've been down to have a look at the place and I'm really delighted to have signed.

"I know that Exeter have got a tradition of playing good football and the manager has obviously got a great reputation, so it was a no-brainer really - I didn't have to think about it too hard.

"I'm just delighted to get another opportunity down here to play football and hopefully be part of a successful team."
