AFC Telford United earned a valuable three points in their hunt for promotion after beating Stockport County 2-0 at the Bucks Head.

Striker Andy Owens put Liam Watson's side ahead in the first half, finishing off a flowing counter attack.

Sean Clancy then made the game safe after the break, latching on to Shaun Whalley's through ball.

The result sees Telford climb to second in Conference North, three points behind leaders North Ferriby.

Bucks manager Liam Watson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I think work-rate won us the game, with a couple of bits of quality in the wide areas which was good to see.

"It was a comfortable win, they had about a 10-minute spell in the second half where they got up a little head of steam, but we always looked dangerous on the break."
