Ross Allen, who scored 54 goals last season, has taken his tally to 15 for this campaign

Guernsey FC got their biggest win of the season as they beat South Park 7-1 in Isthmian League Division One South.

Nigel Hutton opened the scoring in the first half, with Ross Allen getting the second from a penalty before the break.

Dominic Heaume got the third after the break before Guernsey hit four late goals, three in stoppage time.

Allen got his second after 85 minutes, Chris Smith got a consolation for South Park, before Tom de la Mare, Allen and Marc McGrath scored in stoppage time.

The victory was the biggest away win for the Green Lions in a match not held at the weekend since they beat Knaphill 8-0 in the Combined Counties League Division One in December 2011.

"Considering some of the difficult nights we've had midweek for us, it was fantastic," manager Tony Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"The pleasing thing was the way we played football, I asked the lads to try and be brave and trust each other and get back to our ways and the surface allowed that to happen.

"Right from the off we were dominant in the first half, probably the only disappointment was it was only 2-0, but it was flattering at the end with a flourish of goals as they gave up."

The four-goal haul for Allen was a season's best for the club's record goalscorer, whose campaign has been dogged by a knee injury.

"I think he's back now, he's got his four goals and that's what he was born to do," added Vance. "He'll be delighted with his performance tonight, and more so his goal tally.

"Crusher (Marc McGrath) had a little bit of a sulk on because he didn't get his goals, but luckily he got one at the end so I'm pleased for him as well as he can go home happy."
