Fraser Barlow has scored six goals in all competitions for Jersey Bulls this season

Jersey Bulls manager Gary Freeman says his side made "hard work" of their 2-1 FA Vase win over Holyport.

Fraser Barlow gave the islanders a sixth-minute lead, but Bulls could not build on their early goal as Kritpac Dzimba equalised after 54 minutes.

But the islanders' top scorer Lorne Bickley got the winner with eight minutes left of the tie.

The win puts them into the third round draw as they aim to go beyond last season's mark of the fifth round.

"We probably made a bit harder work of it than we should have," Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"I thought we started the game well, but then to be fair to them they came back into it.

"Once they scored we were in for a bit of a game, but I always felt we had a goal in us, it was just waiting for that moment.

"We felt if we could get on top and get that second goal it might be a comfortable afternoon, but it very rarely is so you've got to deal with it and keep going and I think we did.

"The subs that came on freshened things up and thankfully Lorne's got another good goal, so we move on and we're into the next round."
