Truro City's winning run was ended as they lost 2-1 at high-flying Maidstone United in National League South.

City, who were bought by a Canadian-based consortium last week, went behind to Matt Rush's close-range finish after 28 minutes as the hosts impressed.

Stones, who beat League Two side Barrow 2-1 in the FA Cup on Saturday, made the result safe when Rush got his second of the game 10 minutes from the end.

Tyler Harvey pulled a goal back in the sixth minute of stoppage time for City.

The win meant Maidstone climbed up to second in the table while Truro remain two points and one place off the relegation spots.
