  1. Motherwell will 'ask different questions' of United - Goodwinpublished at 19:41 GMT 29 October

    Motherwell v Dundee United (19:45)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "It'll be quite a contrast in terms of style of play from St Mirren. They're a lot more physical and direct. Motherwell try and build from the back, play into the centre.

"It does ask different questions of the team. We showed really good resilience against St Mirren, defended the box brilliantly. Today, the discipline of the team will be called into question a lot more.

"We've made a slight change of shape. Pan Camara worked his socks off on Saturday, he's got a slight niggle. We didn't want to take the risk with such an influential player."

  2. Win over Livi was 'one of weakest Well performances' - Askoupublished at 19:40 GMT 29 October

    Motherwell v Dundee United (19:45)

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou tells BBC Scotland: "I want defensive discipline and quality, individually and as a team. Saturday was one of our weakest performances.

"Although the result was very good, we didn't get a lot of confidence in the performance - and that's the most important thing. I expect a lot more from the players.

"You have to manage your squad and we have a lot of players who are good enough to start, and deserve to start. Slattery is back, he made a huge impact the other day. We want as much competition and quality.

"Dundee United are very direct, physical, and often press man-for-man. They often play very open games, and I'm fine with that."

It's very interesting that the other get involved comments all think Hearts will drop points tonight. Tough game away at St Mirren it is, but very telling that Hearts are now the team others want to beat.

  4. O'Neill looks for confidence boost on 'surreal' returnpublished at 19:38 GMT 29 October

    Celtic v Falkirk (19:45)

Celtic interim manager Martin O'Neill has been speaking to BBC Scotland.

"It has been surreal in many aspects," he said. "It's extraordinary. I was minding my own business on Monday afternoon but to be here in Wednesday, is incredible.

"It's for the older players to come on and show them the way. In terms of us, the backroom staff have been great to me.

"They'll be coaching aspects of the game, trying to deal with the opposition, and the backroom staff will know Falkirk better than me.

"It's at Celtic Park, let's focus on us to be as strong as possible and try to get our confidence back.

"I can try and influence what's going forward."

  5. Rohl explains Rangers rotationpublished at 19:37 GMT 29 October

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "We rotate a little bit to get fresh legs on the pitch. We need the energy.

"The first goal is to create belief and confidence and this is about wins.

"We made a good step with the first win, now we have another chance. With results, belief will come and people will be more and more positive.

"We have to use the squad and its quality. On Sunday we saw good impact from the bench and players who deserve minutes.

"The way we want to play, we always need energy."

  6. 'Confident' Hibs ready to go - Graypublished at 19:36 GMT 29 October

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Hibernian head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "Just too quick a turnaround [for Warren O'Hora], he came off against Aberdeen with a shoulder issue.

"We respect the advice of the medical department, he was desperate to play.

"Rocky [Bushiri] comes in which is a fantastic replacement and Zach [Mitchell] comes on to the bench as well so we have the squad to deal with that.

"The results weren't what they needed to be but the reset since the international break was a big thing.

"To go back-to-back gives the players confidence to kick on and hopefully it sets it up for a fantastic night."

  7. St Mirren must 'embrace next few days' - Robinsonpublished at 19:35 GMT 29 October

    St Mirren v Hearts (19:45)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson, on a touchline ban tonight, tells BBC Scotland the main thing he wants to see from his side this evening is "end product".

"We've played really well in the two games we've lost," he says. "Hearts score a lot of set-plays, we need our centre-backs do do that. We need our full-backs and eights to contribute more.

"Results are more important than performances at times, and we'll take a result tonight. We know we're in for a tough task. We have to embrace these next few days.

"Big blow [to not have Alex Gogic], but that's what you have a squad for."

  8. Hearts' full focus on St Mirren - McInnespublished at 19:34 GMT 29 October

    St Mirren v Hearts (19:45)

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "Enjoyed the result on Sunday, we dealt with the game well but didn't think we played as well as we can.

"You deal with the next game, the next game is this one. All focus is on this. This game demands our full attention."

On Hearts' League Cup exit at St Mirren earlier this season: "We never started playing until the second half. We're well aware of what's expected.

"St Mirren have lost their past three, which is unusual for them. We don't feel we're wholly better than anyone else. We come here hoping to win and keep our winning thing going."

On Brendan Rodgers' shock Celtic departure: "Probably [a bit surprised] in terms of the nature of it all. Brendan is a top operator. The Scottish Premiership has been very fortunate to have a manager of his calibre.

"You never know what's happening at clubs and clearly there's been some sort of breakdown."

Celtic, and principal shareholder Dermot Desmond in particular after his statement pointing the finger at former manager Brendan Rodgers, may have hoped tension might settle and change may bring a renewed collective purpose.

The large crowd that gathered outside the main stand showed, for them, reconciliation is far, far away.

Little sign there that their calls for key members of the Celtic board to go will diminish in the near future as a new era begins to dawn for the club.

  10. 'We're not throwing anyone under the bus' - Kettlewellpublished at 19:32 GMT 29 October

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "You don't expect to get [injuries] to the magnitude that we've had. It is an opportunity for other players to come in and really cement a spot.

"I think my message is very clear to the players. Take it and give yourself a really good chance to go again in a couple of days' time, hopefully, off the back of a positive performance and result.

"We were gutted to lose Max [Stryjex], as we have done for the last couple of games. Eddie [Beach] came in, thought he was really comfortable and competent against Hearts in what wasn't a great performance for us.

"He didn't have such a good day on Sunday, but neither did the rest of us. What we continue to do is not throw anybody under the bus if they've made a mistake.

"We just have to get back to doing the basics, the fundamentals of the game properly, having a good concentration level. I genuinely believe that if we do that against any team in the league, it'll be a tight game going up to the 90th minute."

  11. 'Belief still there we can turn season around' - Thelinpublished at 19:29 GMT 29 October

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "It's our fourth game now in 12 days, so we've made some changes. We need some more energy and power in the team today.

"It's super important [to get three points]. We are trying so hard, but we get these setbacks. The last two performances have been not good enough, so I think it's good for everyone and our fans today to show the performance, but also we have to win a game now and catch up with other teams and feel like we are in a better position.

"Of course, it's a difficult time, but still the energy is there and the training has been good. The mood for the game today is good and the belief is still there that we can turn this season around, and end the season better than we started it."

On Dylan Lobban's debut: "He has been really good now for a while in the training sessions and in the other games he has played in the development team. I think it's good timing today and he can help us with energy and also his skills in the last third of the pitch."

  12. Rangers enjoy great record at Easter Roadpublished at 19:28 GMT 29 October

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

    Brian McLauchlin
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

It’s a chilly night in the capital as Danny Rohl brings his Rangers side to Easter Road where a rejuvenated Hibernian lie in wait.

The Ibrox club haven’t lost a top flight match here since 2006 when Scott Brown and Michael Stewart were in the Hibs line up.

David Gray though will have his players fired up and will be keen to ensure they are much more a threat than when they visited Ibrox a few weeks ago.

  13. O'Neill makes four Celtic changes; Arfield starts for Falkirkpublished at 19:26 GMT 29 October

    Celtic v Falkirk (19:45)

So, away from spoof social media team line-up graphics showing Henrik Larsson starting up front and Jonathan Gould in the goal, Martin O'Neill has brought in Anthony Ralston, Marcelo Saracchi, James Forrest and Auston Trusty come in. Colby Donovan, Dane Murray, Reo Hatate and Kieran Tierney drop out, with the latter not even on the bench.

For John McGlynn, there's three changes. Ethan Ross returns for his first game since the second day of the league season. Veteran Scott Arfield comes in to add a bit of experience, while Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi leads the line. Ross MacIver, Ethan Williams and Kyrell Wilson drop out.

  14. Do capital clubs have edge in attack?published at 19:21 GMT 29 October

Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga each have five league goals, while Alexandros Kyziridis has three.

Hearts also have the likes of Elton Kabangu and James Wilson to call on.

Hibs have some impressive options in attack too, with Kieron Bowie, Martin Boyle, Thibault Klidje, Elie Youan and Junior Hoilett.

Midfielder Benjamin Nygren is Celtic's top scorer this term, while full-back James Tavernier leads the way for Rangers.

Is there an argument both Edinburgh clubs have better options up front?

  15. 'Don't get in an argument with O'Neill'published at 19:19 GMT 29 October

    Celtic v Falkirk (19:45)

Martin O'Neill may have mellowed with age and said yesterday that he is determined to enjoy this unexpected opportunity.

However, Celtic players should not think for a second that the new interim boss is a soft touch.

Former striker Chris Sutton told The Warm-up podcast this morning that he is still scared of his old manager.

"He’s just so clever," said the ubiquitous pundit. "You just don't want to get in an argument with him."

  16. Well swap five; Eskesen and Fatah in for Unitedpublished at 19:16 GMT 29 October

    Motherwell v Dundee United (19:45)

The League Cup semi-final is clearly on Jens Berthel Askou's mind as he swaps five from the side that beat Livingston on Saturday.

Paul McGinn returns to skipper the side, with Johnny Koutroumbis lining up in an unfamiliar left-back role. Callum Slattery makes a full return from injury, with Regan Charles-Cook and Callum Hendry part of the attack.

As for United, they bring in Julius Eskesen and Amar Fatah and seemingly change shape. It looks like a 4-3-3, with Eskesen into midfield and Fatah onto the right.

Zac Sapsford is on the left, with Nikolaj Moller up top.

Get Involvedpublished at 19:15 GMT 29 October

I have a funny feeling that Hearts may drop points tonight. St Mirren are a tough nut to crack at home. I fancy wins for both Old Firm teams, but nothing spectacular. The other games too hard to call.

  18. Goalkeeper change for Killie; four changes for the Donspublished at 19:13 GMT 29 October

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Four changes apiece for Stuart Kettlewell and Jimmy Thelin.

It's a switch in goal for Kilmarnock, as Eddie Beach makes way for emergency Celtic loan signing Tobi Oluwayemi.

Lewis Mayo and Jamie Brandon both miss out after being forced off with injuries at half time of Killie's defeat to Rangers, with Bruce Anderson dropping to the bench.

Ben Brannan, Zac Williams and Liam Polwarth all come in.

Striker Tyreece John-Jules is on the bench after joining on a short-term loan last week, while Kyle Magennis returns to the squad after missing the trip to Ibrox.

For the Dons, Dylan Lobban makes his debut at right-back, with Graeme Shinnie, Dante Polvara and Marko Lazetic also coming into Thelin's starting XI.

Gavin Molloy, Adil Aouchiche and Kevin Nisbet all drop to the bench, while Ante Palaversa and Alfie Dorrington are left out of the squad.

  19. Bushiri in for Hibs; Tavernier drops to benchpublished at 19:11 GMT 29 October

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

David Gray just makes the one change from Hibs' impressive victory over Aberdeen on Sunday.

Warren O'Hora was forced off at Pittodrie, so Rocky Bushiri starts instead in the back three.

Danny Rohl meanwhile drops five players to the bench from the win over Kilmarnock as he looks for freshness.

Skipper James Tavernier is one of those as Nasser Djiga, Max Aarons, Connor Barron, Mikey Moore and Youseff Chermiti all come in.

  20. Hearts unchanged; St Mirren switch twopublished at 19:08 GMT 29 October

    St Mirren v Hearts (19:45)

For a sixth straight match, Hearts are unchanged.

We were told Christian Borchgrevink and Frankie Kent both had a chance of making the squad, but neither are included.

Just the two changes for St Mirren following their 3-1 defeat at Dundee United.

Suspended Alex Gogic drops out of the defence for Richard King, with Mikael Mandron replacing Jonah Ayunga up top.
