  1. 'Hibs need to go after Rangers'published at 19:05 GMT 29 October

    Hibernian v Rangers (15:00)

    Michael Stewart
Former Hibs midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Hibs need recognise there is still an element of fragility at Rangers and go right after them. Don't sit off them at all. If they are passive and try to contain Rangers, it just allows them to build into the game and find a rhythm.

If Rangers drop points here, it magnifies Sunday (League Cup semi-final with Celtic) even more.

It's early for Danny Rohl but this is a big five days. If he ends up on the wrong side of these two games it makes his job even bigger. Conversely, if he wins both, he's off to an absolute flyer.

  3. Hearts aim to build on solid foundationpublished at 18:58 GMT 29 October

    St Mirren v Hearts (19:45)

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

Given all the noise right now it almost feels like this game for the league leaders is flying under the radar. But it is absolutely huge for both sides.

How will Hearts follow up their statement victory over Celtic?

Not since 1985 has a side other than Celtic or Rangers won the title. I can’t remember this level of excitement that this possibility since Hearts' strong start under George Burley almost exactly 20 years ago.

That was a house built on Vladimir Romanov’s constantly shifting sands. In contrast this 2025 version is being built on the solid stone of the Foundation of Hearts, the investment of Tony Bloom, a packed out Tynecastle, consistent and wise leadership under Ann Budge and a manager and a group players who look wholly capable.

St Mirren have the League Cup semi-final to look forward to against Motherwell, but all is far from rosy.

Stephen Robinson’s side are on a run of three straight defeats and they must do without the suspended Alex Gogic.

No sign of the Falkirk team yet...

I can tell you there's no sign of Kieran Tierney for Celtic, while James Forrest and Auston Trusty start.

  10. O'Neill retakes the Celtic reins, with Hearts on toppublished at 18:45 GMT 29 October

Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts visit St Mirren, while Hibs v Rangers looks like a potential cracker, but the remarkable return of Martin O'Neill at Celtic tops the bill on a busy night of action.

The 73-year-old has been drafted in as a temporary replacement following the shock departure of Brendan Rodgers on Monday night and gets straight to work against Falkirk, with assistance from Shaun Maloney.

O'Neill made his debut in the Celtic dugout in the summer of 2000 and waved goodbye after five trophy-laden years. These are turbulent times for the champions but his comeback is sure to be emotional.

Both sides of the Old Firm changing managers mid-season is unheard of and Hearts are certainly making the most of the tumult in the west, racking up win after win.

Kilmarnock host Aberdeen and Dundee United visit Fir Park to take on Motherwell.

There's a lot going on, so let's get cracking...
