Owen Moffat opened the scoring for the hosts after 20 minutes
Greenock Morton kept their playoff hopes alive as they held on to beat managerless Queen's Park at Cappielow.
Owen Moffat and Michael Garrity scored either side of the interval as Dougie Imrie's side imposed themselves on their opponents, who are without a replacement for Calum Davidson after the head coach was sacked last weekend.
Five minutes after Garrity doubled their lead, though, the Spiders struck back through Zak Rudden.
However, they were unable to find an equaliser as the hosts saw out the game to move to within five points of Partick Thistle in fourth place.
Queen's Park remain seventh, six points above Dunfermline Athletic in the relegation play-off spot.
