    This way for fun...

To be fair, which group hasn't got a bit of excitement going?

So far, Livingston have responded fairly well to their top-flight relegation with two wins from two.

They travel up to Cove Rangers, who will be hoping for a better night at the Balmoral Stadium than last week, when Spartans fired five by them.

Dougie Samuel's team welcome fellow League 2 team Forfar to Ainslie Park, with both still in the hunt for progression.

  2. Don't turn up to Dens...published at 19:17 British Summer Time 23 July

    Group D

Hopefully anyone taking in Dundee v Annan Athletic isn't wandering around Dens Park wondering why it's so quiet...

The top-flight team - kinda - welcome the Group D leaders to... Brechin City's Glebe Park tonight.

The much-discussed home surface of the Dark Blues is not quite ready yet, so their two home games in this competition are being held up the road.

But assistant manager Stuart Taylor stressed this week Dundee aren't derailed by it as they prepare to take on the Galabankies.

In their ranks is former Dee midfielder Paul McGowan.

Elsewhere, it's a re-run of Duncan Ferguson's first game in charge in Scotland as his Inverness Caley Thistle side welcome Arbroath, who are yet to pick up a point.

  3. Kelty to kick on from cup shock?published at 19:15 British Summer Time 23 July

Callum Flatman's goal delivered the cup shock of the weekend as Kelty Hearts beat Hibs

Callum Flatman's bullet header handed Kelty Hearts the win in their first competitive meeting with Hibernian and sets Micheal Tidser's side up nicely for their final two games.

They know that victories over Peterhead tonight and Queen’s Park on Saturday would see them win the group and reach the last 16 stage of the Premier Sports Cup for the first time in their history.

Callum Davidson's Spiders will be searching to bounce back from their defeat to Hibs last week as they welcome winless Elgin City to Lesser Hampden in the League 2 side's final game.

  4. Goodwin needs goalspublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 23 July

    Group B

Who's still thinking about Brandon Forbes' thunderbolt free-kick? Aye, me too.

If Dundee United are to avoid back-to-back League Cup group stage exits, they'll need to be inspired by the youngster's finish and find the net a few times tonight up at Victoria Park in their final game.

Group B has the potential for three teams - United, Falkirk and Ayr - to all finish on nine points, and so it then comes down to goal difference.

The Premiership side have two more than the Honest Men, but trail the Bairns by three.

Scott Brown's Ayr United are in action tonight against last season's League 2 champions Stenhousemuir, too, while they and Falkirk also have the benefit of knowing exactly what they need in their final game on Saturday.

  5. 100% record got to give...published at 19:10 British Summer Time 23 July

    Group A

Tonight's Sportsound commentary comes from Group A.

Pittodrie, to be precise... and it seems it's the place to be.

Aberdeen welcome Airdrieonians, with both sides looking to preserve their perfect start to the season.

The pair have scored a combined 19 goals in their first two games, while the Dons have yet to concede.

Throw in it being Jimmy Thelin's first home game at Pittodrie, it's a tasty tie.

Here's hoping the goals keep coming, otherwise I've just jinxed it.

Elsewhere in the group, League 1 Queen of the South will be keen to kick on from their victory last week against Dumbarton, as they travel to winless East Kilbride.

You're telling me it's matchday four already? This fella at Pittodrie cannae believe it either.

For some, this is their final Scottish League Cup group game, the league season is looming.

Plenty to get through tonight first, though, so lets get to it.
