Five minutes of normal time left in this one. A number of fans are already leaving. The result doesn't seem like changing.

I think this is a Emi Buendia situation - he is the one who can open the door for Aston Villa.

Another Villa chance. Ollie Watkins gets the ball on the half-turn and then squares it for Leon Bailey who has a shot blocked.

Youri Tielemans is following up on the rebound but fizzes his effort just wide.

West Ham are not allowing the ball to be crossed or shots in dangerous areas.

    Aston Villa 0-1 West Ham

Aston Villa want a penalty as a Youri Tielemans cross is blocked by Edson Alvarez on the slide and the ball then bobbles into the West Ham player's arm.

The ref doesn't give it and there's no VAR. It's the right decision, a penalty there would have been very harsh.

    Villa are improving though.

It's all a bit slow and laboured.

West Ham are playing really good football.

They're forcing the black shirts out of their position and every player wants the ball.

The Holte End are begging the Villa players to shoot every time they get the ball in the final third.

Instead they're playing a patient game, passing it around. But West Ham are so organised tonight. There are no gaps!

I half agree Rob, thanks for getting in touch.

Villa's kit is nice. Their performance though....well, as you say.

Villa not at the races tonight. Horrible performance and horrible kit!

    Rob

This is so pedestrian from Villa. Every time Mings goes to pass he holds a sign up letting West Ham know who he’s playing it to!

It hasn't been the most enthralling of second halves. No shots on target for either side.

    Wycombe 2-0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth make their fifth substitution, with Harry Clout coming on to make his senior debut.

    Paddy Lane goes off.

Nope, the free-kick comes to nothing as Max Kilman pushes over Matty Cash as the cross comes in.

Villa look rattled. They are not together, at the moment.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January

    Wycombe 2-0 Portsmouth

Three changes for Wycombe, with 15 minutes or so left to play.

Brandon Hanlan, Tyreeq Bakinson and Garath McCleary go off.

Josh Scowen, Richard Kone and Fred Onyedinma replace them.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January

    Aston Villa 0-1 West Ham

Here we go. West Ham have a chance to pump the ball into the box with a wide free-kick.

Morgan Rogers brings down Aaron Wan-Bissaka - still playing right wing - and gets a yellow card.

The TV people have zoomed in on Unai Emery who has both his arms outstretched as if to say to his players "why aren't you doing better?".

    He doesn't look impressed.

Great feet from Morgan Rogers who gets his side out of danger with a neat turn in his own third.

Villa then counter but it ends with a tame shot straight at the keeper.

We are into the final 20 minutes at Adams Park. Have Wycombe already got this one all wrapped up?

Whatever the result tonight it’s West Ham best performance of the season so far. Potter should have replaced David Moyes in the first place and we wouldn’t be in this mess.
