Will Crystal Palace keep their best players after winning the FA Cup

BBC Sport's senior football correspondent Sami Mokbel said Tottenham are interested in Marc Guehi, although the Crystal Palace captain and England defender has options elsewhere.

Eberechi Eze is another who has attracted plenty of interest. The England forward has a £68m release clause and reports have linked him with a move to Bayern Munich, who signed Michael Olise from Palace last summer for about £50m.

Auckland City really should have got their business done in the mini window, too late to strengthen now.

    Jasper, Verwood

Not sure who Auckland could have brought in to prevent the thumping they got off Bayern Munich yesterday - perhaps the deity of your choice.

What makes Liverpool's signing of Florian Wirtz any different from the flop signing of Nunez? It worries me that they're being talked about in a very similar way...

  5. With Kerkez arriving, what next for Robertson?published at 09:25 British Summer Time 16 June

Milos Kerkez's impending move to Liverpool would raise questions about the future of Andy Robertson and Konstantinos Tsimikas, with the Reds unlikely to need all three left-backs next season.

And with Atletico Madrid interested in Robertson, the 31-year-old's stint at Anfield might be coming to an end this summer.

Robertson said last week he had not given his future much thought, with his focus on a enjoying a well-earned holiday after another long and successful season in which he won the Premier League for the second time.

But with the transfer window having reopened, the Anfield mainstay and Scotland captain's club future is unclear for the first time in eight years.

Liverpool are keen to retain Robertson and allow current back-up Kostas Tsimikas to leave, but they acknowledge that the 31-year-old Scot may be minded to move on in search of regular football.

With Cesar Azpilicueta and fellow left-back Reinildo Mandava out of contract, Atletico head coach Diego Simeone has set his eyes on replacements.

Left-back is an area Arne Slot wants to strengthen for the Premier League winners with the Hungary international closing in on a move to Anfield after a stellar season with the Cherries.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday that the Kerkez "deal will happen very soon" with the Reds expected to pay Bournemouth a fee in the region of £40m.

According to BBC Sport's Nizaar Kinsella, the Cherries are confident of signing a replacement for Kerkez in 23-year-old Adrien Truffert from Rennes, which could prove more good news for the Liverpool fans.

Kerkez ranked second for most distance covered of all Premier League full-backs last season (behind only Fulham's Antonee Robinson) and third for most sprints.

The 21-year-old made the third-most open play crosses in the Premier League and registered eight goal involvements during the 2024-25 campaign (two goals and six assists).

  7. What to look out for - Liverpool editionpublished at 09:16 British Summer Time 16 June

    Liverpool

After signing Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool have agreed a £116m deal to bring his Bayern Leverkusen team-mate and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, 22, to Anfield.

The statement signing will be a club record fee for Liverpool and he is likely to be joined at Anfield by Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in the coming days.

Of all the signings so far it has to be Cunha who'll have the biggest impact? United were tragically unable to win games they were the better side in last season due to zero attacking directness. He'll provide that, and is already acclimatised to the league. Wirtz is going to take time to adapt from Bundesliga football, and may not ever fully settle, similar to Sancho, Mkhitaryan, Werner, Kagawa etc

  9. What to look out forpublished at 09:05 British Summer Time 16 June

Fresh from appointing Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Tottenham are interested in signing Bees striker Bryan Mbeumo.

Earlier in June, Mbeumo was the subject of a bid from Manchester United of £45m and £10m in add-ons.

United and Arsenal have both been linked with Sporting's Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres, who has enjoyed a remarkable couple of seasons in Portugal.

Arsenal, who have also agreed a £51m deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, have been linked with RB Leipzig's Slovenia forward Benjamin Sesko.

  11. 'Let me at 'em'published at 08:55 British Summer Time 16 June

Cherki, who joined Man City from Lyon for an initial fee of £30.45m, laughed when asked about the incident, says he has Man United in his sights again once the new season starts.

"I [didn't] like [it] when Manchester United won the game against Lyon because I am a Lyonnais," said Cherki. "Now I am waiting for the game [to] kill them. I'm here to win all the games."

Cherki and City will find out when they will face United when the Premier League fixtures for the 2025-26 season are released on Wednesday.

  12. 'I can't wait to kill Man Utd'published at 08:50 British Summer Time 16 June

    The Times

Rayan Cherki was one of the major signings in the mini-window at the start of this month, the creative midfielder joining Manchester City from Lyon in time to be registered for the Club World Cup.

He has his eyes on revenge on city rivals Manchester United, who knocked Lyon out of the Europa League in dramatic circumstances next season.

In quotes carried by The Times today, Cherki goes as far to say he wants to "kill" United. Bit harsh, Rayan.

We've had a bit of time to reflect on the major signings made in the 10-day window at the start of this month - who do you think will prove to be the best acquisition this coming season?

Will Florian Wirtz shine at Liverpool? Can Matheus Cunha revive Manchester United? Will Liam Delap make the step-up at Chelsea?

How about Tijjani Reijnders at Manchester City - or will Rayan Ait-Nouri prove the missing piece for Pep Guardiola? Or is there another signing who you think could be a brilliant bit of business?

  14. Chelsea & Man City strengthen for Club World Cuppublished at 08:40 British Summer Time 16 June

Chelsea begin their Club World Cup campaign against Los Angeles FC later today, while City play Moroccan side Wydad AC on Wednesday.

Both sides have new faces in their touring party, with City landing Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri for £31m and bringing in goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea as cover.

They also announced the signing of attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon for an initial fee of £30.45m, and Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, before the deadline.

Chelsea have spent more than any other club so far, splashing out £89.5m to bring in Liam Delap (£30m), Dario Essugo (£18.5m) and Mamadou Sarr (£12m), with Estevao Willian (£29m) joining after agreeing a move a year ago.

A Gooner here of 55 years waiting for a striker or two to get us over the line. Why not buy both Sesko and Gyokeres? If we buy one and we lose them to injury then we are back to Havertz or Merino, who are not strikers. I want Arteta to stay, but fail again and I don't see him being around for another try.

  16. Any other big moves?published at 08:30 British Summer Time 16 June

Liverpool replaced Alexander-Arnold with Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, while the Bundesliga side took goalkeeper Mark Flekken from Brentford.

The Bees in turn signed Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher, while across the city Everton turned forward Carlos Alcaraz's loan move from Flamengo into a permanent one.

Brighton signed 18-year-old forward Charalampos Kostoulas for £29.78m from Greek side Olympiakos.

And Sunderland may have lost the younger Bellingham, but they broke their own transfer record ahead of their top-flight return by signing French midfielder Enzo le Fee for £19m following his loan spell from Roma.

  17. Who made early moves in the mini transfer window?published at 08:25 British Summer Time 16 June

    Matheus CunhaImage source, Getty Images

Manchester United are not in the Club World Cup but have made the most expensive move yet, spending £62.5m on Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.

That deal has already eclipsed the biggest fee in the Premier League last summer, when Spurs spent an initial £55m on striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

Bournemouth to the Bernabeu is not a well-trodden path in football history but Real Madrid have spent £50m on Cherries centre-half Dean Huijsen.

Real, of course, also chose to spend several million euros (£10m) to bring forward the long-awaited signing of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, so he could feature in the Club World Cup.

Borussia Dortmund have gone down a familiar path by bringing in Jobe Bellingham - younger brother of Real and England midfielder Jude - from Sunderland for an initial £27.8m.

  19. Why was the window closed for only six days?published at 08:16 British Summer Time 16 June

Premier League, EFL and Scottish Premiership clubs will be able to buy and sell until 19:00 BST on Monday, 1 September.

The first transfer window of this summer between 1-10 June saw £400m spent by Premier League clubs.

This was to allow clubs to sign players for the Fifa Club World Cup which begins on Sunday, 15 June.

Fifa rules state transfer windows cannot last more than 16 weeks in a calendar year, hence the split this summer.
