Fulham are unbeaten in their last five league games against Luton (W3 D2), winning both home games in that run (3-2 in October 2019, 7-0 in May 2022).

This is the first top-flight meeting between Fulham and Luton since the 1959-60 campaign. The Cottagers won 4-2 at home in the September, while the Hatters won 4-1 at Kenilworth Road in the January that season.

Fulham have only lost one of their last eight Premier League matches against newly promoted opposition at Craven Cottage (W3 D4), going down 1-2 to Leeds United in March 2021.

Fulham have only won two of their last eight Premier League home games (D2 L4), and haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of those matches, shipping 16 goals (2 per game). They lost this season’s home opener 0-3 to Brentford; only in 1951-52 and 2020-21 (first 3) have the Cottagers ever lost their first two home matches in a top-flight season, going on to be relegated in both such campaigns.

Along with Burnley, Luton are one of two sides yet to pick up a point in the Premier League this season. In their Football League history, only in 1927-28 and 2002-03 (both in the third tier) have the Hatters ever lost their opening four league matches in a campaign.

Luton could become only the second side to lose each of their first four Premier League matches in their first season in the competition, after Swindon Town in 1993-94. Under Rob Edwards, the Hatters had only lost three of their 25 Championship games last season (excl. play-offs) before earning promotion.

Fulham have faced more shots on target (33) and allowed a higher expected goals total against them (12.1) than any side in this season’s Premier League, with only Burnley (11) shipping more goals than the Cottagers (10) so far. Indeed, the average xG of shots faced by Fulham this season is 0.20, the highest of any side, suggesting they give away a higher quality of chance to their opposition than any other team.

Fulham’s Raúl Jiménez remains without a goal in the Premier League since the start of last season, attempting 27 shots in 19 appearances without scoring in this time. His expected goals total of 3.0 is the highest of any player without a goal in the division since the beginning of 2022-23.

Carlton Morris has had more than twice as many shots (9) and more than twice as many touches in the opposition’s box (17) than any other Luton player in the Premier League this season, and has been involved in both of their goals so far (1 goal, 1 assist). Meanwhile, Morris has also contested 43 aerial duels in the top-flight this term, 15 more than any other player.

Luton’s Ryan Giles has made 19 open play crosses in his three Premier League games this season, with his average of 6.8 per 90 the highest of any player with 200+ minutes. Indeed, despite Luton playing a game fewer than most sides, only Pedro Neto (23) and Lucas Digne (21) have more open play crosses in total than Giles (19).
