Wolves are unbeaten in their last eight league games against Luton (W4 D4). This is the first time they’ve hosted them in a league match since a 1-0 win in August 2006, and the first time in the top-flight since a 2-1 defeat in January 1984.
Luton have lost both of their away league games against Wolves in the 21st century (both in 2006), having won four and lost just one of their six previous visits to Molineux between 1976 and 1995.
Wolves’ five Premier League home games against promoted sides since the start of last season have produced just four goals. Each of the last four such games has finished 1-0, with Wolves winning three of those and losing the other against Bournemouth.
Wolves have lost just two of their last 15 Premier League games against promoted sides (W5 D8). They lost 2-1 at Sheffield United earlier this season, but haven’t lost to two different promoted teams in the same top-flight campaign since 2011-12 (Norwich City and QPR).
Having won three of their first five Premier League games kicking off at 3pm on Saturday this season (D1 L1), Wolves have won just three of their subsequent 10 such matches (D2 L5).
Luton’s last two Premier League games have both ended in 5-1 defeats, against Manchester City and Brentford. The Hatters have never conceded 5+ goals in three consecutive league games within the top four tiers of English football, while the last top-flight team to do so were West Ham in September 1965.
Luton have kept just two clean sheets in their 34 Premier League games this season, conceding in all 17 of their away games so far. Their 75 goals conceded so far is their third most in a single top-flight campaign after 1956-57 (76) and 1982-83 (84), both of which were 42-game seasons.
Luton have conceded 75 goals in the Premier League this season – the last team to ship more in their first ever campaign in the competition were Blackpool in 2010-11 (78).
Alfie Doughty has created 59 chances in the Premier League for Luton this season. Since 2003-04, only three English players have ever created more in their first season in the competition – Rickie Lambert in 2012-13 (81), Kieran Trippier in 2014-15 (65) and James Maddison in 2018-19 (100).
Carlton Morris is Luton’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals. The last player to reach double figures in their first top-flight campaign with the Hatters was Mick Harford in 1984-85.
