That's as far as we go tonight.

West Brom, Bristol City and south Wales' fierce rivals Cardiff and Swansea are the big winners from the Championship.

Peterborough picked up where they left off at Wembley with a superb win too, and Wycombe did a great job of denying Derby a precious three points.

Thanks for joining us. Good night.

  2. So many questions yet to answerpublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 10 April

    #bbcefl

We edge closer to the end of the regular season but with the majority of the league just four games from the close, we're none the wiser about so many issues.

It's what makes the EFL such an exciting set of leagues, and guarantees our attentions will be focused on the drama all the way to the end of the season.

We'll be there for all of it, as we have been tonight.

Friday night is our next stop, as Plymouth Argyle's hopes of avoiding an immediate Championship exit are tested by a Leicester City side hoping to depart too - just at the other end with the Premier League.

Martin, Leicester: Wonder what the odds were on Bristol City scoring five more than Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich combined in the mid-week fixtures?

Anon: Pathetic by Ipswich. Clearly bottling it. Can't even beat opposition that have nothing to play for. Fuming with that dull performance.

  4. Swansea the only winners at the bottompublished at 22:10 British Summer Time 10 April

Nothing has changed at the bottom but at the same time quite a bit has changed...

Swansea are the real winners of the night in all ways, with their 3-0 win against Stoke moving them up to 50 points and with a healthy seven-point buffer on the drop zone.

For everyone else, it's as you were.

Birmingham, Blackburn and Stoke all lost meaning they remain firmly in the relegation battle, with lacklustre performances all round at a time when their fans would have been hoping for much more.

Ipswich return to the top-two but there's possibly a sigh of relief for Leeds, whose stumble at home to Sunderland last night was followed by Town's failure to despatch Watford tonight.

They and leaders Leicester, who lost at Millwall last night, have a game in hand.

Happier times for West Brom, who are 10 unbeaten and now nine points clear of Coventry and Preston after the win over Rotherham.

Middlesbrough and Hull are only six points behind the top six, and rely on so many other permutations to drag their way in and need to pick up points themselves to add to the snookers required.

Boro have also played a game more than Coventry and Preston

That's all of this evening's games done and dusted.

Let's have a look at how the results have changed the Championship table. Spoiler alert: it's still really close at the top and bottom.

  7. 'Killed both teams play-off chance'published at 21:58 British Summer Time 10 April

    FT: Hull 2-2 Middlesbrough

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

    The season's finished.

If it had been early on in the season, you'd say that was a good point. Hull matched Middlesbrough but it's killed both teams chances on the play-offs.

Liam Rosenior will be happy with the performance if not the situation. They came up against a good Middlesbrough team. The fans enjoyed that, they are giving them applause, but that's it for me.

    West Brom 2-0 Rotherham

West Brom get a win that really lifts them away from the chasing pack and all but steers them toward that end of season promotion shoot-out.

Brandon Thomas-Asante finished off a slick move for the opener, but John Swift's penalty second was a ridiculous call given Lee Peltier didn't appeal to handle and wasn't in the box.

    Otherwise, great call...

Mind you, it wouldn't have made much difference overall. Rotherham showed some guts but as they have all year, lacked a cutting edge.

  9. 'The gift that keeps on giving'published at 21:53 British Summer Time 10 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-0 Watford

    Aaron Paul
    BBC Radio 5 Live reporter

Does any one actually want to go up automatically?...

On a night where Kieran McKenna asked for a big atmosphere to push a big performance - it’s his side who didn’t quite get the memo, the opportunity presented to them by Leicester and Leeds yesterday spurned, as they are held here by Watford.

The bulk of Ipswich's chances came in the first half, Watford were markedly better in the second half, compact, resolute and efficient. Credit to Tom Cleverley for galvanising a mess of a Watford side, he's done his chances of becoming manager full time the world of good.

But the headlines will be dominated by Ipswich, who were so very lucky not to lose at the death courtesy of that freak Edo Kayembe chance.

This really is the title race that keeps on giving...

    Hull 2-2 Middlesbrough

Play-off hopes look pretty slim for both Hull City and Middlesbrough and this share of the spoils is a mutual kick in the nether regions on that scale.

Boro led through Emmanuel Latte Lath early door but Hull fought back to go in front through Jaden Philogene and Jean Michael Seri.

Finn Azaz got the visitors level after the break and it was the best either could muster.

Next year lads it would seem, next year.

    Hull 2-2 Middlesbrough

Jonny Howson hooks a free-kick to Hull's back-post and there are hearts in mouths.

Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath is well placed, but the bouncing ball just won't sit up for him and bobbles wide.

It would have taken the sort of volley you only see on television shaving foam adverts - sidewise leaping scissor-kicks - to score it.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:52 British Summer Time 10 April

    Swansea 3-0 Stoke

A big win from Swansea and a much-needed strong performance at home.

They take all three points and ease some of the pressure by moving seven points clear of the relegation zone, with goals coming from Liam Cullen, Matt Grimes - from the penalty spot - and Josh Key.

Stoke meanwhile remain in 19th hovering just above the drop.

Nas, Blackburn: It's about time the spotlight turned to the shambles that is modern day Blackburn Rovers. Why aren't there questions being asked about how much Rovers have declined under this ownership? From a stable top 10 Premier League club, they have been reduced to this. The only way is down, unless new owners arrive at Ewood Park.

Anon: Well we have flirted with reglation for nearly a decade but Birmingham look down. Watching the team play, they have no leaders or ideas of how to score.

Paul: Pressure seems to be messing with the top 3. After dropped points yesterday for Leicester and Leeds, Ipswich seem to be losing their bottle quiet a bit tonight. Typical of us when so close....

  14. 'A struggling top three'published at 21:47 British Summer Time 10 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-0 Watford

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

Ipswich were slow starters in both halves and that cost them. It took about 30 minutes for them to gain control in the match. They had a good spell in the last ten minutes of the first half and they could have easily have scored but they were slow to start in the second half.

Ipswich didn't do enough to win the game. It's amazing how this top three were doing so well - now they are all struggling. We know what happened to Leicester last night, we know what happened to Leeds. I think there's a nervous tension creeping into all three of the teams.

Birmingham's survival hopes are given another crushing dent by a damaging home defeat by Cardiff, who are enjoying the rarefied air of the top half.

It was Josh Bowler's second-half goal that settled it, when Blues were arguably hit with a suckerpunch after a decent start to the half.

Gary Rowett's side could not find that crucial goal. They stay in the bottom three. More than squeaky bum time right now.

Derby's draw at Wycombe might just have given Peterborough a bit of hope in the race for second....

Their 3-0 win over Port Vale means they are just SIX points behind with two games in hand on the Rams.

Vale slip back into the drop zone.

Kieran McKenna looks disappointedImage source, Rex Features

A frustrating night for Ipswich who are unable to capitalise on Leicester and Leeds dropping points last night, as they are held to a goalless draw by Watford.

Ipswich had a lot of the chances but were really missing that clinical edge in front of goal tonight, against a well-organised Hornets side.

A point moves them up to second, a point behind leaders Leicester. Not quite what they were hoping for.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:44 British Summer Time 10 April

    Bristol City 5-0 Blackburn

One of the performances of the season from Bristol City as they thrash Blackburn 5-0 at Ashton Gate, helped by a raft of defensive errors from the visitors.

Tommy Conway and Nahki Wells both got two each - one apiece from the penalty spot - with Anis Mehmeti getting the other goal.

It's a night to forget for John Eustace's side, who will remain firmly near the bottom in among the relegation scrap.

  20. CLOSE!published at 21:43 British Summer Time 10 April

    Ipswich 0-0 Watford

My oh my that was almost a nightmare for Ipswich as Edo Kayembe lashes at the ball from halfway as he spots the Ipswich keeper off his line and Vaclav Hldaky has to race backwards to palm the ball away.
