  1. Kilmarnock get 'just rewards' for consistencypublished at 17:33 BST 27 September

    FT: Dundee United 0-2 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "Scoring two goals away from home, getting a clean sheet. The performance was excellent.

"We tip-toed into it, both teams were a wee bit loose in possession at times. We felt there was space for us to exploit if we could connect. We started doing that. If I'm being really fussy I felt we could have scored a few more goals.

"I didn't feel we were a million miles away from where we wanted to be. Did we execute them game plan pretty well against St Mirren and Celtic? Yes.

"Two bitter blows cost us, and there might have been some negativity. Today, we got our just rewards for the performance and that gave the players a bit of extra confidence and belief.

"It's not been a million miles from what we've had all season. The level of consistency has been excellent. We won't get too carried away."

  2. Attacking set plays disappoint Pressleypublished at 17:29 BST 27 September

    FT: St Mirren 1-0 Dundee

Dundee manager Steven Pressley tells BBC Sportsound: "There was very little in the game. Simon Murray's always going to be a big miss.

"St Mirren, without doubt, finished the first half the stronger team. We created some good moments in the second half. We defended our set plays with great effect.

"Something we put a big onus on is attacking set plays and set plays can be the difference in this league between being a top-six club and being a bottom-six club, and today our attacking set plays were really poor.

"The signs are there, we're not far away. I felt we should've got something, we should've certainly got something."

With an xG of three, Celtic failed to score today. That's an incredible stat.

They have now scored fewer league goals than Dundee United, Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs.

  5. Rodgers 'happy' with Celtic displaypublished at 17:21 BST 27 September

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "I was happy with the performance. I think in every metric in the game we were dominant.

"I thought today our football was really good, we went through the pitch well but just lacked that killer instinct in the box. But I also think they defended the box really well so we need to credit Hibs for that.

"We had good chances, I don't think there's any doubt about that. When the ball broke through we counter-pressed really well and we dealt well with the set-pieces, but it was just that final touch in the box we were lacking.

"We just couldn't find the back of the net and when we did it was offside."

  6. Watch highlights on Sportscenepublished at 17:18 BST 27 September

As usual, BBC Scotland will provide match highlights of the Premiership's weekend action. There are a couple of goals worth seeing.

Sportscene kicks off on the BBC Scotland channel at 19:15 BST tonight, with a repeat on BBC One Scotland starting just before midnight.

You'll also find it all on the iPlayer at some point.

  7. 'Well should have 15 points out of 15'published at 17:15 BST 27 September

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (17:45)

Motherwell are still chasing their first Premiership win under Jens Berthel Askou after five successive draws - but Andy Halliday insists the Steelemen should have full points.

The midfielder says Dane Askou has "ripped apart" the notion that clubs with fewer resources have to play a certain way.

Having secured a Premier Sports Cup semi-final against St Mirren with victory at Aberdeen last weekend, they are seeking their first league win tonight.

"For me, in terms of levels of performance I think we should be sitting with 15 out of 15 points in the league," Halliday told BBC Scotland.

"I really feel in all five games we have been the better team. Some of them a lot more than others, but we've not quite got the rewards in terms of wins.

"I think it was about time we got our just rewards for our performance levels at the weekend against Aberdeen."

  8. 'We don't want to lose attacking identity' - Thelinpublished at 17:11 BST 27 September

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (17:45)

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland his formation tonight is "more hopefully a 3-4-3".

"We didn't want to lose our attacking identity but had to try and get the balance right. When we lose the ball we've struggled with the balance of the team but also when we attack. We need more players inside the opponents' box.

"I think the performances sometimes have been okay, but we haven't had enough power up front and the opponents have been able to hurt us when we lose the ball.

"We have a lot of fans here, the players, and I as a manager, need to give the energy back to the fans. We will do all we can to turn this round and hopefully that can help us get a good result.

"The fans should keep believing, the energy is really high. We're still optimistic for the future. The players have that belief, as long as you have that then things are usually going to correct themselves, but it's going to be hard work to deserve it.

"Motherwell are really good in the central areas of the pitch so we're going to have to be strong there."

Aberdeen fans berate Dons boss Jimmy Thelin at Tannadice

It seems like the spotlight has shone non-stop on Jimmy Thelin this season.

The under-pressure Dons boss says he has not been given any "must-win" targets during his almost daily conversations with chairman Dave Cormack.

However, Scottish Cup-winning Aberdeen manager admitted he needs to "find answers quickly" to arrest an alarming start to the season which has seen four league defeats and a draw in five games, without a goal being scored.

Add to that a League Cup exit at the hands of Motherwell - their hosts this evening - and it's grim times at Pittodrie.

In the midweek league defeat at Dundee United, fans directed chants of "you're getting sacked in the morning" to Thelin, who said the club are at "rock bottom".

Defender Mats Knoester called on the Aberdeen squad to "look in the mirror and do better", adding "it's a bit crazy just to say the manager is to blame".

But from persisting with tactics that clearly don't suit the personnel at his disposal, to an inability to make in-game changes, the cash in the bank Thelin had from bringing the Scottish Cup back to the north east is losing value.

  11. Aberdeen revert to cup final formation?published at 17:03 BST 27 September

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (17:45)

Jimmy Thelin makes six changes from the 2-0 midweek defeat to Dundee United, and it would appear he has gone with a similar formation to the 5-3-2 which got the better of Celtic in May's Scottish Cup final.

Kristers Tobers is fit enough to make his first appearance of the season in defence, while Jack Milne starts after a half-time substitute appearance on Tuesday.

Nicky Devlin returns from suspension and joins Adil Aouchiche, Ante Palaversa and captain Graeme Shinnie in returning to the starting XI.

Alfie Dorrington, Alexander Jensen, Nicolas Milanovic and Sivert Heltne Nilsen drop to the bench, while there is no place in the squad for Stuart Armstrong and Dante Polvara.

Motherwell, meanwhile, are unchanged following last weekend's cup win at Pittodrie.

A frustrating afternoon for Brendan Rodgers' side who are held by a defensively stout Hibs side.

Celtic created plenty of chances and enjoyed the majority of possession but couldn't get beyond the visitors' defence.

A couple of solid saves from goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger also helped David Gray's side.

  15. FULL-TIME Hearts 3-0 Falkirkpublished at 16:56 BST 27 September

Heart of Midlothian are top of the Scottish Premiership.

A sublime Alexandros Kyziridis strike was followed by a fine Lawrence Shankland effort, before Craig Halkett's diving header put the game to bed after the interval.

Falkirk huffed and puffed but were unable to deal with the hosts' intensity and dynamism across the pitch.

St Mirren get over the line with Killian Phillips' solitary goal from the first half proving to be the winner.

The Paisley side, who threatened through Phillips again late on, are up to third while Dundee are seventh, though could slip down the pack depending on how Motherwell and Livingston fare over the next 24 hours.

That should have been 3-0 and game, set and match.

But Watkins chokes. He puts it almost straight at the keeper. Deary me.
