I think Aberdeen fans need a little bit of hope and I think this performance so far shows there is some there.

It's progress, but it's results that count at the end of the day.

An excellent pass from Elliot Watt finds Tawanda Maswanhise out wide and his dangerous cross is knocked behind for a corner, which comes to hee-haw.

    Motherwell 0-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen defender on BBC Sportsound

I don't think Motherwell have got into their stride yet. I think they've been pinned back a little bit by Aberdeen's formation and their high line.

    Motherwell 0-0 Aberdeen

It opens up for Motherwell, but last week's match-winner Regan Charles-Cook can't get a shot away before committing a foul.

For Motherwell, it's been a bit sloppy by their standards in the pouring Lanarkshire rain.

    Still early, though.

  10. Robinson praise for 'infectious' Phillipspublished at 17:54 BST 27 September

    FT: St Mirren 1-0 Dundee

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "It was a tight game. Dundee started better than us. We started to get opportunities and gain momentum and we scored at a good time.

"We were in control of the game. We had ownership of the game without Dundee really creating a lot of chances in the second half. We're delighted with the result.

"Killian Phillips is infectious - his energy, his quality. He probably doesn't get that credit for how technically good he is. He drives us. He was the one that was leading the press. He triggers everybody else around him."

There's so much more zip and intensity about Aberdeen's play in these opening minutes.

  12. Postpublished at 17:51 BST 27 September

    Motherwell 0-0 Aberdeen

That's better from the hosts as Apostolos Stamatelopoulos wins a corner.

In it comes from Elliot Watt, but it's headed away.

  13. Postpublished at 17:49 BST 27 September

Kevin Nisbet works the keeper again, but this one is a tame effort from the edge of the box from the Dons striker.

Motherwell haven't got going at all.

Where has that been hiding all season?

I think Kevin Nisbet has got to score, it would have been a magnificent start for the visitors.

Aberdeen should have the lead within the first minute.

The rain may be absolutely clattering down at Fir Park, but under-fire Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin wasn't in a dampened mood.

It's a rare switch of formation from Thelin. He desperately needs it to work.

If it doesn't, the hearty band of travelling supporters to his right will let him know.

  19. Goodwin 'bitterly disappointed'published at 17:40 BST 27 September

    FT: Dundee United 0-2 Kilmarnock

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "We're bitterly disappointed to have lost the game and put an end to the unbeaten run we've been on.

"I spoke before about consistency in starting XI because of the consistency of performances. Unfortunately today, that dropped below the standard of what is needed to win games in the Scottish Premiership.

"I don't want to take anything away from Kilmarnock, they were very good on the day. Stuart Kettlewell has them well drilled, they're difficult to break down, and defended their box brilliantly.

"A couple of key moments in the game have cost us. We didn't do enough in the game overall."

  20. Well working on 'attacking sharpness' - Askoupublished at 17:36 BST 27 September

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (17:45)

    Jens Berthel AskouImage source, SNS

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou tells BBC Scotland: "I think the performance last week was, in many ways, very good.

"There was a bit to improve in our decision-making and quality on the ball, but in terms of our defensive stability and structure and willingness to fight and work hard, there was a lot to be pleased about.

"It's also about getting a bit of continuity in the team. We've got no new injuries from this week to last week which makes us able to put the same squad out, but we haven't been able to get any of the players back from injury.

"We believe that if we keep working on the attacking sharpness more results and wins will come our way.

"This is a great group of players who understand all the details and they're really invested in it, so I back them 100% to start getting more wins."
