His first Championship goal of the season and it means everything to him and his manager Michael Carrick who celebrates wildly on the touchline in scenes reminiscent of his old boss Sir Alex Ferguson in his heyday. It's his subs who have won it for them.

There will be no fourth consecutive draw for Boro.

Ivor Pandur covers his face with his hands. He had kept his side in it for 93 minutes.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 75 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Shooting practice for Boro.

Finn Azaz gets the ball 25 yards out, turns, and picks his spot with a left-foot curler towards the corner which Ivor Pandur dives to his right this time to claw away.

The keeper also does well to clear a Daniel Barlaser corner under pressure too. He's earning his corn.

    Hull City look t-i-r-e-d.

Ruben Selles would bite your hand off if you offered him a 0-0 at the moment.

The pressure continues as Delano Burgzorg gets the ball with his back to goal in the area, spins and fires in a low shot which Ivor Pandur does very well to get down into the near corner to turn away with his left hand.

  16. 'Substitutions have really changed things'published at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Mike White
    Commentator on BBC Radio Humberside

He's really brightened things up already, has Ben Doak.

It's attack vs defence at the moment, the substitutions have really changed things here, the Tigers are under the pump.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 71 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Steven Alzate stumbles in midfield and dives onto the ball like a rugby player to prevent an attack.

He escapes a caution but Boro almost punish Hull from the restart as Hayden Hackney thuds the inside of the top of the right post with a fine curling shot after Ben Doak's lay-off which left Ivor Pandur in the City goal flat-footed.

Boro have a head of steam at present...

  18. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 69 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Riley McGree, Lukas Engel and Isaiah Jones make way for Boro, with Neto Borges, Delano Burgzorg and, yes, Ben Doak, coming on for Boro.

Joao Pedro is being withdrawn by Ruben Selles too, after a tireless night up top, with Chris Bedia coming on for him to lead the Hull line.

  19. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Boro fans appeal for handball in the box after Isaiah Jones tries to get the ball in from the right of the area, clipping Alfie Jones' trailing hand, but nothing doing, says ref Leigh Doughty. A touch fortunate, perhaps.

  20. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Abu Kamara races down the City right with his languid style, evading several nibbles and eventually whipping in a cross which is easy for Tom Glover to claim.

A few tired legs out there as no City players were able to keep up with the break, even if it didn't appear to be at top speed.
