    BBC Scotland at Ibrox

We're told the Dundee United team bus is almost at Ibrox. The visitors set off at 09:30 and got stuck behind a jack-knifed lorry somewhere along the way.

    Far from ideal preparation...

  4. Postpublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (15:15)

A slight delay in Perth too, but only by 15 minutes.

  5. Wasted journey for Caley Thistlepublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time

Among the many stories of traffic nightmares, we have had the Stenhousemuir team bus stuck in snow near Perth.

Then there's Inverness Caley Thistle making a 245-mile trip to Dumfries on Friday, only for the game at Queen of the South to be called off. Hardly what a club in administration needs - and now they need to get back!

Apparently, the sand under the artificial pitch at Palmerston is frozen, which means it looks like a swimming pool.

The bad weather has not come as a surprise. Should these games have been called off yesterday?

  6. Sweep, sweep, sweeppublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

    No, not the curling...

This was the scene at St Mirren not so long ago, with referee John Beaton looking on.

He might have been better grabbing a shovel to help out.

They're talking about a three o'clock inspection and a four o'clock start in Paisley now.

  7. Delayed by 45 minutes at Ibroxpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time

    Rangers v Dundee Utd (15:45)

The Rangers ground staff have been busy with the brushes but we have a delayed kick-off at Ibrox because visitors Dundee United have been held up on the congested roads.

That one is going to start 45 minutes later than scheduled.

  8. Storm Bert bites hardpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time

Storm Bert has brought a combination of heavy rain and snowmelt across parts large parts of Scotland.

High winds are on the way too.

Essential travel only is the message so, unless you're playing or a match official, "But officer, I need to get to Montrose v Annan Athletic" is probably not going to wash...

  10. Brrrrr...published at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time

Much of Scotland woke up to a winter wonderland, with a blanket of pristine snow.

Now it's a soggy, slushy mess of waterlogged pitches and travel chaos.

The lower divisions have been almost wiped out by postponements, but the Premiership show goes on.

And it goes on for a long time, since two of the three o'clock starts have been delayed, then we have a game at 17:45 and another at 19:45!
