  1. Lewandowksi & Raphinha put Barca in controlpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time

    Red Star Belgrade 1-4 Barcelona

Well Robert Lewandowksi had just missed a glorious opportunity but he makes no mistake this time.

Jules Kounde zips the ball across the box and the Poland striker just hangs around at the back post and allows the ball to ping off him.

That puts Lewandowski on 99 Champions League goals...

    A hat-trick for the century?

And just as I'm typing that out Raphinha makes it four. Kounde cuts it back on the right and it's a brilliant finish from the edge of the area. Low and powerful from the Brazilian.

  2. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Mikel Arteta unimpressed now as Ben White is penalised for a borderline foul on Piotr Zielinski.

  3. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Lautaro Martinez almost picks out Davide Frattesi with a fine through ball but Gabriel Martinelli gets back well to deal with it.

  4. Lookman puts Atalanta aheadpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time

    Stuttgart 0-1 Atalanta

Bit of a mess at the back from Stuttgart and Charles de Ketelaere drops the shoulder and drifts into the area from the right-hand side. He squares it across for Ademola Lookman and it's a simple finish for the former Everton and Leicester man.

  5. Postpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus is making his 50th Champions League appearance, the 43rd Brazilian to hit that total in the competition, the joint-most by a single nation (level with France and Spain).

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Inter win a couple of free-kicks in quick succession. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta isn't happy and the referee comes over to have words - but doesn't show him a yellow card.

  7. 'A big chance'published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was a big chance and William Saliba knows it. He didn't judge it properly.

  8. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Huge chance for William Saliba. Enormous. He's in acres of space from Gabriel Martinelli's corner but somehow gets it all wrong and the ball brushes his shoulder before going wide.

  9. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Arsenal corner now as Denzel Dumfries heads behind. Promising start for Arsenal.

  10. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Arsenal have a chance 38 seconds into the second half as Kai Havertz feeds Gabriel Martinelli, who slams a shot into the side-netting.

  11. Postpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It looks to be Kai Havertz dropping into the midfield area and Gabriel Jesus is taking the centre forward role.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal

Arsenal make a change at the break. Gabriel Jesus replaces Mikel Merino. Tactical tweak?

I feel like Mikel Merino's hand is in a position where you cannot get away with it.

Not sure what Arsenal are moaning at there. His arm is up. And, yes the ball is close to him, but his hand actively stops the ball going goalwards. Penalty all day. Arsenal moaning as usual.

Saliba did NOT foul Martinez, Martinez should have got a clear, textbook second yellow for then asking the ref to book Saliba so Inter should be down to 10 men. Then the ball has been smashed into Merino's arm from 0.5 yards away with no threat of a goal, but somehow that's a penalty.

All nine of Hakan Calhanoglu's Champions League goals have been scored in home games (five for Bayer Leverkusen, four for Inter) – the most by a player with 100% coming at home in the competition's history.

  19. 'It does my head in'published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time

    Matt Upson

It does my head in the way they apply that law in Europe.

We are miles ahead of that in the Premier League, the referees have the understanding of proximity, the speed of the ball and all those things were tick, tick.

It is just a bit of common sense.

Just not going to be Arsenal's way this season is it? Everything going against them. Fixtures, injuries, contentious referee decisions and I must say it form, nowhere near levels of last season. That mountain keeps looking taller!

Handball rule needs to change, never a pen IMO. Seen it given and not given though.

    Hannah

Crazy penalty decision, what could Merino do? Seems the only way to avoid these penalties is to play Venus de Milo in central defence.
