England are in their second major final under the guidance of Crawley's Gareth Southgate.

If the Three Lions beat Spain it will see Southgate lift the country's first men's European Championship trophy.

We headed to the West Sussex town to speak to residents about the former Crawley schoolboy - and they could not be more proud.

I've found a Spanish football kit on court 14 at Wimbledon.

Daniel, from just south of Madrid, is hoping for a Carlos Alcaraz-Euro 2024 double today. He'll be watching the tennis on Henman Hill and then following updates from the football on his phone.

Asked if he thinks Spain will win it he smiled and said "of course; England have been rubbish."

I left him to it with some bemused Brits glaring at him. Buena suerte Daniel!

As a bit of perspective for what our current England set up has given us - lost my Dad just over three and a half years ago in the pandemic, since then England men have made two tournament finals. In Dad’s lifetime we only reached one final, he was 82 years old! Huge respect for the massive progress Gareth and this current group of players and set up have made, also the togetherness to be humbled by. Come on lads, one final English roar!

Berlin’s fan parks are starting to fill up and while some England fans travelled out to Germany by planes, trains or automobiles over the last couple of days some, like this group, have been out here for much, much longer.

They are Dane, Matt, Joe, Josh, Kieran, Jack and Tom and they have been in Germany following England since the start of the tournament, five weeks ago.

They drove out and are planning to drive home on Tuesday, hopefully after a day to recover celebrating an England win.

Top marks for the Gareth Southgate face Hawaiian shirt too.

It’s a final. You believe you can do it. You’ve got the weapons for it.

I have the sense that England needs the win. We want the win. There’s a difference there.

You go through every team that has won a tournament recently and you’ll find a moment where there’s a defeat or criticism or something that creates a siege mentality that did help them actually.

Driving 4 hours to Cornwall to watch the final on a big screen at my favourite bar on the beach - if we win, it will be an incredible 36-hour round trip. If not, it's a long journey home! Come on England!

The former coach of England defender Marc Guehi has spoken of his "immense pride" as he prepares to line up for England in the Euro 2024 final.

Steve Owen first spotted Guehi playing when he was five and took him to Cray Wanderers in London, before the defender later went on to Chelsea.

The former Gravesend schoolboy has played in all but one of England's games at the Euros, and Mr Owen believes he has made the most of the experience the tournament has given him.

He said: "Marc has really laid down a marker with his performances in this tournament and has shown maturity beyond his years. Hopefully he can keep the shirt moving forward."

  12. 'This is the most exciting one of all'published at 10:38 British Summer Time 14 July

    Spain v England (20.00 BST)

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC 5 Live

Former England striker Ellen White on her memories of winning Euro 2022 with the Lionesses and the build-up to the final: "There's obviously a lot of excitement, a lot of nerves as well. This team has been in pressure situations, massive games. It's a long wait for them but they have played a lot of night games, they know what it is all about. This is the most exciting one of all."

On Harry Kane: "He hasn't looked at his peak, but I think he has done an incredible, selfless job at times for this team. What he does for the team as a leader, his runs and his presence, his holding up the ball and occupying the centre-halves, he has done an amazing job in that sense, then Gareth has brought in subs when needed.

"He scored that penalty, that put us on our way to beating the Netherlands and going to the final. He is a great leader for this team and will have a great impact on the final as well."

An England supporter is so confident of his team's success, he had 'England Euro 2024 Winners' tattooed on his leg ahead of the final.

The artist who carried out Dan Thomas' new tattoo said he had to triple-check before putting the needle to skin.

Mr Thomas, 29, from Swindon, said: "I'm pretty confident. I think it will happen. I wouldn't have got it done if I didn't think it would happen."

His tattooist has told him "as a punishment if they do lose then he is not going to cover it up for at least a year".

The data consultant is predicting England will win 2-1 when they face Spain later. He was so convinced about the result, he decided to live stream the tattoo process on TikTok.

It began with Serbia, a steady start Thanks to Jude who played his part On to the Danes, the cracks began Kane in midfield, no sign of a plan Slovenia parked the bus with their troops The country complained, still we topped the group Slovakia were next, a nightmare first half The headlines were written, the Scots were having a laugh The country held its breath, the performance was a sham One long throw left, saved by the Belling ham! It was then time for the Swiss An improved performance but we continued to miss One nil down, Saka took aim, phew! Another shootout win, we were through A semi with the Dutch against a old foe A dodgy penalty, karma oh no! The best performance yet but extra time loomed Ollie you legend the Dutch were doomed! The stadium was filled with orange despair This was of course except for Ed Sheerans hair Only Spain stand in the way Of England’s greatest ever day!

It’s strange to think we could have gone the whole tournament without England ever playing in Berlin.

But now, having seen just a few hundred England fans in the city over the last month, you suddenly can’t move for red and white.

Last night, fans took over the many bars alongside the river Spree near Berlin’s famous Friedrichstraße - and by the look of the party, there’ll be some sore heads this morning!
