In regards to Spurs and Ange. As much as it pains me as a Spurs fan I look at Arteta. People forget how bad his team was for quite a while. But then he turned it around with time. The question is will the owners back Ange like the Arsenal owners backed Arteta.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on his message to the fans: "As I said last night, no messages. I am here, I am going to fight to make sure we bring success to this football club. Nothing really changes. Where there is doubt, whether that is internally or externally, it just gets my resolve stronger to make sure we get it right."

  3. 'It is a big game on Sunday'published at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou added on Chelsea: "We have done well against the teams up the top end of the table, not just wins but played really well. Whether that is City or United or Villa. But it doesn't eliminate what happened last night. That still needs to be addressed. We will put that to one side, it is a big game on Sunday.

"Chelsea are going really well, they are in a good space at the moment witha fairly healthy squad and in good form. Always a tough game against them but we are at home and we need to make sure we produce a performance like we have in the other games."

  4. 'We need to break that cycle'published at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was also asked about how difficult to get through this period with a stretched squad: "We know that, I think that is put to one side. For me the disappointment last night, there was a repeat of cycle of us going into games, starting well enough but then allowing the opposition to get a grip on it by either conceding a sloppy goal - like we did last night - or not taking our opportunities.

"We need to break that cycle, irrespective of where we are at at the moment. We know we are really thin on the ground in terms of squad numbers. We know there is not a lot of opportunity to rotate and rest players. We paid the price with Benny [Davies] last night.

"Those are known things. what also is known is we repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot in games like last night and we need to change that."

  5. 'I have got no interest in who is behind me'published at 12:06 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou also spoke on the scenes after last night's loss to Bournemouth: "Not a lot of time for reflection, we got back at 2am. It was a disappointing night and we have a lot of work to do."

And on fans he said: "They aren't behind me, they are behind the club. I have got no interest in who is behind me. Last night you have to figure the fans who travel to Bournemouth are fairly hardcore supporters. They weren't happy with what they saw and they felt like they needed to give some feedback. I took the feedback onboard and we move on."

I’m a Spurs fan of 32 years and admit to being ‘glass half empty’ when it comes to Spurs. I don’t like what’s happening to my team, however, calling for Ange to be sacked is madness - who do those fans think we’ll get? Graham Potter? That’s no better a solution. This isn’t all on Ange, the players were the ones playing with no energy, and seemingly no effort last night. That said, I’m dreading Sunday.

Big Ange needs big time to complete his work. Removing him now will take us back years. Investment in January, get behind the team, top six and a decent cup run is realistic. Prem challenge within 2 or 3 seasons if we stick with it and back him. #COYS.

40+ years into my spurs love affair, it's always been a bit like this. Think 1987 my friends, one of the best teams I saw and won absolutely nothing. Loved them! I also love Ange, it's the paper thin squad and lightweights on the pitch. We need a proper tough leader, a la Roy Keane, to get them sorted.

Chelsea lead the way in terms of the table after winning all of their games so far this season. They are five points clear of Manchester City, who they beat 2-0 last month.

The mid-table to the relegation spot is congested and only four points separates sixth Liverpool to 12th Crystal Palace. The relegation battle, only one club is relegated every season, is the more interesting this campaign.

The fixture with the most sway on how the table will look come Monday is West Ham v Crystal Palace.

Palace may be bottom but their performances have been quite promising so far. The Hammers, meanwhile, have been less convincing and so Palace could lift themselves off the bottom. A win could see them rise to seventh.

Talk about an overreaction from Spurs fans. Two points off European places and 6 points off the champions league. About time they realise they’re not chasing top of the league and appreciate being a stable Premier League club playing for something each season.

Problem with Spurs is quite simple. 9th richest football club in world football, top 4 stadium and training ground, top 4 ticket prices but mid table investment in the team. Whether Levy has it right in running the club this way I don't know but don't expect Spurs to be getting the better of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and the rest.

    Ben, Nottingham

The Carabao Cup and Europa league are massive for Ange. Crash out of one/both in the next month and there's little reason to keep him. We can take defeats if we can see progress but it's the same mistakes every game.

    Andy, Worcester

I was at the corresponding fixture last season when Spurs fans spent 90 mins singing “we’ve got our football back” now it seems they aren’t happy. Sometimes you’ve gotta stick with what you believe. Bournemouth did that when Andoni Iraola struggled at the start of last season and look at the result.

Personals abuse is never justified. Too many FIFA/Football Manager bosses. This is real football it has it's ups and downs, part of life. Can't keep changing because of a down turn during a project.

In general I feel its wrong to boo any manager, you have eleven players on the pitch getting paid to do a job, in Spurs case they are well known in not spending on new players

  19. Tottenham v Chelsea - what to expect?published at 11:06 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Last season, it was one of the most bizarre, captivating and dramatic matches of the campaign.

Spurs had two players sent off, injuries to key players Micky Van de Ven and James Maddison and saw former manager Mauricio Pochettino return to take a 4-1 win, with Nicolas Jackson scoring a hat-trick.

Spurs were clapped off for their efforts in the match, but it ended their fine start to the campaign and started a poor run.

This season, the prospects feel very different:

    • Spurs' form: one win in six
    • Chelsea's form: four wins in a row
    • Spurs have one fit central defender
    • Chelsea made seven changes in the win over Southampton
    • And Chelsea have had one more day's rest

All set for another big Chelsea win, then?

The cycle of sacking managers every 18 months needs to stop at Spurs - history has proven it doesn't work! The squad had been decimated with injuries again - just like last season, and it's obvious players are running on 80% and it shows. Look at the bigger picture and actually it's not all bad - a run of form when some players return and we can shoot up the table. In a healthy position in Europe and still have a cup quarter final in a few weeks. Reinforcements are definitely needed, but sacking Ange would be madness.
