Another for May... Jay Stansfield picks out Keshi Anderson with a lovely reverse pass and the winger puts it on a plate for May to double Birmingham's lead from six yards out.

Pressure has been building with the hosts operating at nearly 80 per cent possession and Stockport just need to put the brakes on this before the match disappears before half-time.

  2. goal

GOAL: Fleetwood 1-1 Doncasterpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Mark Helm (34 mins)

Fleetwood had a good spell of pressure and it's paid off!

It's Mark Helm with the finish for the home side.

  3. Postpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Gillingham

A good chance for Gillingham to break the deadlock.

Elliott Nevitt is through on goal with only the keeper to beat but it's great defending from Bromley centre-back Omar Sowunmi who makes an excellent challenge to thwart him.

  4. Blues need to 'put this game to bed'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Birmingham 1-0 Stockport

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

The second part of the job is to find the second goal, and put this game to bed.

Finding the second goal is something they haven't been able to do recently. Stockport are set up to play football but they are not seeing the ball.

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Peterborough United 0-0 Burton Albion

    Action at both ends here!

First, Kwame Poku gets in behind the Burton Albion defence and attempts to lob keeper Max Crocombe who looked to have handled outside the area but the referee waved away Posh appeals.

Unfortunately, for the hosts Poku got a knock in the process and had to be replaced by Malik Mothersill.

Mothersill then gave the ball away in midfield and Burton midfielder Tomas Kalinauskas let fly with a superb 25-yard strike, which was parried away to safety by Nicholas Bilokapic.

Blunder from Ben Hinchliffe pounced on by Birmingham.

Pressure had been building for the visitors but that was a massive mistake from the Stockport keeper, flinging the ball out overarm and picking out Keshi Anderson 25 yards out.

His cutback finds May whose shot from 12 yards takes huge deflection off Ethan Pye on its way in.

Nothing Hinchliffe could do with the strike but Dave Challinor's thunderous face says it all on the sidelines.

  7. Postpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Fleetwood 0-1 Doncaster

Fleetwood are trying to find a response to going a goal down as Liam Shaw tries his luck from range but it's deflected up into the air and Teddy Sharman-Lowe gathers it.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Blackpool

Great save from Shrewsbury keeper Toby Savin!

A right-wing corner is sent into the box and finds Matthew Pennington but his header is instinctively kept out by Savin.

Blackpool coming into this one now after 20 minutes of Shrewsbury dominance.

  9. Birmingham beginning to 'ask some questions'published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Birmingham 0-0 Stockport

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

For Birmingham City it is encouraging that they have been able to ask some questions with all the possession.

There has only been one attempt from either team, but Blues are putting the pressure on Stockport here.

  10. Postpublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Gillingham

Gillingham midfielder Jack Nolan tries one from distance but it deflects wide of the goal.

    Decent effort.

The rain is trying its best to put a dampener on things but this is already firing nicely and the quality on show from both sides looks a cut above the usual fare of League One.

Birmingham have enjoyed the majority of the possession at 72 per cent and have plenty of skill in their ranks with Alfie May, Willem Thor Willumsson and Keshi Anderson all delivering flashes of excellence.

Stockport are by no means on the back foot though with Louie Barry and Lewis Bate looking lively.

    Cracking game already.

  12. Postpublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Blackpool

The hosts have dominated this one so far but Blackpool get their first half-chance when a deep corner kick finds Ashley Fletcher but the ex-West Ham striker's far post header goes harmlessly wide of the near post.

  13. goal

GOAL: Fleetwood 0-1 Doncasterpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Kyle Hurst (13 mins)

No FA Cup fatigue from Doncaster!

It's been a quiet kind of start in this one but it's the away side who take the lead thanks to Kyle Hurst's close-range finish.

  14. Postpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Peterborough United 0-0 Burton Albion

Little of goalmouth action to tell you the truth so far at London Road.

Posh have perhaps unsurprisingly hogged 87% of the ball but the visitors have stuck well to their defensive tasks so far.

  15. Postpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Gillingham

Bromley's Danny Imray tries one from a tight angle but his effort is off target.

Some good work from Gillingham follows as Jack Nolan and Jayden Clarke exchanges passes on the left side. Clarke then finds space to get a shot off but it goes well wide.

  16. 'Great noise under the lights'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Blackpool

    Stuart Dunn
    BBC Radio Shropshire commentator

Blackpool will be a bit stunned, and Shrewsbury have a real spring in their step.

There is great noise under the lights. There is a lot of vocal support for Gareth Ainsworth.

  17. CLOSE!published at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Blackpool

The hosts are close to a second!

A ball across the box falls to Bloxham but his goalbound effort is blocked by Pool defender Zac Ashworth.

    All Shrewsbury at the moment!

  18. Brewers aiming for first league win at Posh in six attemptspublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Image caption,

Ex-Brewer Tom Naylor scored the winner the last time Burton Albion took all three points at Peterborough United.

Burton Albion have not won in the league at London Road since January 2016 when Tom Naylor's third-minute goal earned the Brewers a 1-0 win.

Albion have drawn twice and lost three times since that meeting with their previous trip to Peterborough ending in a 4-0 defeat last November.

In fact, the Brewers have only won one out of their previous 11 outings against Posh in all competitions - a 2-1 home victory in March 2021.

  19. CLOSE!published at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Birmingham 0-0 Stockport

Early pressure from Birmingham but Stockport have just rattled the crossbar with a thunderous hit from Will Collar.

Sent through with a perfectly weighted lofted pass from Louie Barry, Collar took a touch and leathered it. The bar was still wobbling seconds later.

It had been early pressure from Birmingham with Alfie May sending a dangerous cross behind the visitors defence but that Collar effort has focused a few minds.

  20. Postpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Gillingham

A good start here from the home side as Michael Cheek tests Jake Turner with a shot but the Gillingham keeper is equal to it to palm it wide.
