Phil Foden is brought down on the right and Manchester City have a free-kick in a pretty dangerous position.

Up go the central defenders but Real's defence heads the delivery away.

Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos is in the right place to clear the ball off the line as Mathias Pereira Lage tries to put Brest ahead on the night.

Oh this could be a tough evening for Abdukodir Khusanov.

He faces Vinicius Junior for the first time and a burst of pace by the Real forward sees him glide past the full-back with his ease, but his cross is stabbed behind for a corner.

From the delivery, Jude Bellingham flicks a header just wide.

What have Man City got to lose. We are 10 minutes into the game, they are 4-2 down on aggregate. They have got to go for it now.

The game plan will stay the same but surely they have to be slightly more adventurous as the night goes on.

They are going to have to find something. The body language, hunched over, shrugged shoulders. They look shellshocked.

Real Madrid seem quite happy to give up possession to Manchester City and let the visitors do the work of trying to make something happen.

The many, many giant screens in The Bernabeu showed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola turning away in disgust after Kylian Mbappe scored.

It has been the worst possible start for City, who have now also lost John Stones to injury.

Uphill task does not cover this now.

Manchester City can't think about the aggregate score now. They just have to go about their task, try to score and see what happens.

They work an attack for the first time, with Josko Gvardiol getting a bit of space on the edge of the box but his shot is blocked.

John Stones is able to walk off the pitch but he can't continue.

That is a blow for him and Manchester City. Nathan Ake replaces him.

It would be a real blow for Man City to lose John Stones. He went to play the ball and Kylian Mbappe collided with him. It looks like Stones just jarred his leg.

It isn't getting any better for Manchester City because John Stones is down injured.

That is the thing that Pep Guardiola and Man City had to avoid. A poor start.

It is just a simple ball over the top to Kylian Mbappe and Ruben Dias gets it all wrong. He goes to head it, misses the header and Mbappe lifts it over the on-rushing Ederson. Disastrous start.
