  4. Sutton prediction - Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelseapublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

Chelsea are having a wobble, and the worry for manager Enzo Maresca is when will it end?

Their performance in their shock defeat by Ipswich was very flat and although Maresca had made a few changes for that game, I saw nothing to suggest they will bounce back with a win at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace have only lost two of their past 11 league games, and they seem to have turned a corner.

This game smells of a draw to me, which will keep Palace moving away from the bottom three, but does not help Chelsea much at the top of the table.

It looks like Maresca was right when he played down his side's title chances after people like myself said before Christmas that they were genuine contenders.

I thought he was just taking the pressure off his players but he is in the building with them every day and he knows them better than the rest of us.

Their past three results suggest they are not going to go the distance, and I can see them dropping more points here.

  5. Team news to watch out forpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

The match preview on Chelsea's official website suggests that striker Nicolas Jackson and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez could return to the starting XI.

The club report also says that Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could all be ready for selection, while Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho could return to the flanks.

However, the game "comes too early" for Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana.

We should find out more soon, with manager Enzo Maresca due to face the media any time now.

  6. Only short-term results will ease Postecoglou pressurepublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

Tottenham v Newcastle (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

Tottenham supporters want one simple thing - to win a major trophy. The problem is that they now feel further away than ever, given a drastic downturn in results across December, a month where they have suffered a lot of injuries.

The next few games could be pivotal in keeping the season alive under an increasingly under-fire manager Ange Postecoglou. Any win would give the Australian manager time and the external support that he needs. And, by stabilising results, it would convince the club to dip into the transfer market - where Spurs are expected to be active - and back him.

However, a backdrop of one win in seven matches makes signing players more difficult. The dip in form has coincided with around 10 players being ill, injured or suspended for the past three matchday squads.

Alongside frustrations on the pitch, chairman Daniel Levy is also facing criticism from some sections of the fan base. Only positive short-term results will ease the pressure and keep the Levy-Postecoglou partnership running.

United will have more legs in midfield as Ugarte returns from a 1 match ban, as does Fernandes who love him or hate him is the only creative force in United's squad. Just hope he keeps his petulance in check at Anfield and focuses on creating some chances for the forwards and maybe contributing with a long overdue goal of his own!

  8. 'Maybe we will or maybe we won't sign anyone'published at 12:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

Man City v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Manchester City

Finally, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on the possibility of some January incomings: "I don't know right now. It is not easy and will not be easy.

"Maybe we will sign or maybe we won't sign anyone.

"The club has to be wise. To add players in the situation that we are in when there are many consistent injured players then the club has to do it, but I don't know if it will be possible to do it."

  9. 'The club has to think about' De Bruyne contractpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

Man City v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Manchester City

In response to whether Kevin de Bruyne needs to get back to consistent fitness to be offered a new deal, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said: "He's had problems in the last year and a half like many players but when he is consistent and fit he is a really important player for us. Decisive player for us.

"But it is about how he is going to perform for us until the end of the season, the club, his age and many other things, so I think the club has to think about it."

    Manchester City

On Savinho's goal against Leicester and that getting him off the mark, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said: "It is going to help him. He is so young and it is his first season in England. I think he has played well but as he is so young there are many things he can improve."

On watching James McAtee and seeing how he can start more Premier League games: "Yes. It made me believe that he should have more minutes.

"But he is young and there are a lot of games to play. I have big respect for how he behaves in the locker room."
