Manchester United have won three of their four Premier League meetings with Brentford (L1), beating them in both home games without conceding (3-0 in 2021-22, 1-0 in 2022-23).
Brentford have lost their last five away games against Man Utd in all competitions, a run that spans between 1939 and 2023. Their last win there was in February 1937, a 3-1 victory.
Manchester United have lost back-to-back home Premier League games, as many defeats as in their previous 34 at Old Trafford (W25 D7). They’ve not lost three on the bounce on home soil in league competition since February 1979.
Having lost each of their first four Premier League games against the two Manchester clubs combined, Brentford have since won three of their four league matches against the two (W1 L1 vs Man Utd and W2 vs Man City).
Manchester United have lost all three of their Premier League games against London based clubs this season (v Tottenham, Arsenal and Crystal Palace). They’ve not lost four consecutive league matches against such opposition since September 1986, while they last lost as many as four league games in a single season against sides from the capital back in 2006-07 (4).
Brentford have won just one of the five Premier League games in which they’ve taken the lead this season (D4), drawing each of their last three such matches. Indeed, no side has dropped more points from winning positions in the Premier League this term than the Bees (8).
Manchester United have conceded first in each of their last three home Premier League games (W1 L2). Only twice previously have they conceded the opening goal in four consecutive Premier League matches at Old Trafford, doing so in February/March 2014 (W1 D1 L2) and July/September 2020 (W1 D2 L1).
Each of Marcus Rashford’s last four Premier League goals for Manchester United have come against London based clubs in separate games, a run which started with him netting the winner (1-0) in this exact fixture last season (followed by goals against Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal).
Brentford duo Yoane Wissa (71) and Bryan Mbeumo (64) rank second and fourth respectively for the longest ongoing runs without missing a Premier League game, with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka on the longest run of consecutive appearances in the division (87), and Newcastle’s Dan Burn in third (69).
Each of Yoane Wissa’s last nine Premier League goals for Brentford have alternated between coming away from home (5) and at the Brentford Community Stadium (4). He has, however, failed to find the back of the net in any of his last five league appearances, since scoring away at Fulham on MD2.
