  1. 'Best football we've played this season'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "There was even an increase [from the performance against Real Madrid]. The first 35 minutes was the best football we have played this season against a difficult opponent.

"We scored two goals but could've scored three or four. Overall, it was a positive afternoon. We made changes, saved some minutes for players, gave opportunities for others and we won the game.

"The consistency is at the next level. The intensity we played, especially in the first 35 minutes is pleasing to see."

On Bukayo Saka's injury: "He was sore but it's nothing serious. So that's positive as well."

On rotations against Crystal Palace: on Wednesday: "We will have to see. Today we had to make changes. There were players who could not start the game and those who could not finish the game. It's been a big headache every week over the past nine months with the amount of issues we've had. But we are coping well."

  2. 'A tough afternoon'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-4 Arsenal

    Ipswich Town

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a tough afternoon.

"The first half an hour was really difficult, Arsenal played really well and we were at full stretch to try and compete with them.

"After the red card and getting to half time I thought the group did really well in the second half. The game was almost done and we had to show the right values and we did that. They scored two goals off short corners.

"The opponent was too strong for us today when 11 v 11 and with 10 men it was almost impossible."

Looking at the stats I don’t think there’s much you can say except that Man Utd were the better side. Their issue for this entire season has been that they are toothless upfront and miss numerous opportunities.

  4. Europa League or bust for Man Utdpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 20 April

    Man Utd 0-1 Wolves

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

It is Europa League or bust for Manchester United.

If United do not win that competition, I am struggling to think what positives they can take from this season.

They can't score, they concede too easily and without Bruno Fernandes they hardly create a chance.

The rebuild is going to be expensive and it is going to take a long time. The other clubs will not stand still to allow United to catch up.

Back to earth with a bump for Man Utd fans. Only two points separating the four teams outside the relegation places, they could legitimately finish 17th this year.

  6. 'Seven games we need to win'published at 16:45 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "From the outside it looks easier but when it is a must-win game, it's not easy for the players when you are 1-0 down.

"Second half we continued the way we have been since day one."

On rest of the season: "We have five Premier League games and two in the Conference League - so seven games and they are all games we need to win."

  7. Lack of goals United's 'biggest problem'published at 16:44 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Wolves

    Manchester United

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "If you don't score goals you don't win games.

"We need to score goals. There was a time we didn't score, but we didn't create. We have a lot of chances to score, but we didn't score - that's the biggest problem for our team."

  8. 'More dynamic in the second half'published at 16:42 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Very happy. First of all because I think we deserved to win the game.

"We started well in the first 20 minutes then we conceded a goal unfortunately and in a match that is must win, it's not easy for the players.

"It becomes more difficult but second half, we also changed something tactically and it was much better. We were a little bit more dynamic with Malo Gusto inside. He is doing this fantastically for us since day one and second half we were much better."

On Tyrique George: "He is a talent, he has to work hard. He's doing well with us, deserved a chance and the goal was fantastic. It was all very important because it gave us an energy boost for the last push."

On Jadon Sancho: "He is doing well but at this moment we have him, Madueke and Pedro Neto, and also Tyrique who can play wide. In this moment they are all good so it is easy for me to decide but also easy to change because the ones who are out are doing well."

  9. 'Saka injury not serious'published at 16:40 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Our first 35 minutes were exceptional, we scored two and could have scored more but the sending off changed the game.

"It was an opportunity to play some players who have not played so much so a lot of positives from this afternoon.

On Bukayo Saka injury status after bad tackle: "He was sore because of the tackle but it doesn't look anything serious."

On Leandro Trossard: "He looked very sharp. We know his quality, put him right, left or centre and he will deliver."

On delaying Liverpool winning title: "All we can do is delay that moment and from our side to earn the right to finish as high as possible."

  10. 'We are building something good for the future'published at 16:38 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira speaking to Sky Sports: "It was not our best match. Technically and tactically, we know that we can play better. We played with our souls, with our spirit and that is what I saw in the game. The supporters believed and the moment that we had a chance, we scored.

On Pablo Sarabia: "He works a lot on the free-kicks. I like him a lot as a player and a person because he has the character that I like.

"We have quality in the squad. The confidence was not in a high level when we arrived but we start to give them confidence and in the end the results help to build something. We are building something good for the future. We have to go into the next game and believe and with our supporters we can do it."

  11. 'We have to look at everything'published at 16:36 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Wolves

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We didn't score our opportunities. That's it. We need to score goals."

On Rasmus Hojlund and whether he needs support: "We need to continue to work but it is not just Rasmus, the whole team missed a lot of opportunities."

On whether it is one step forward and two steps back for Manchester United: "This season is going to end like this so we need to take the positives and work on what we need to improve. They will have one chance. We have to look at everything, our squad, what we have to do in the market. We will see. We talk every day about next season and with time we will get what we need to improve the team."

  12. 'In the end we got a result'published at 16:34 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's not easy to play here but in the end we got a result.

On Pablo Sarabia: "Very happy with Pablo [Sarabia] because he has quality but his quality as a person is more important. He believes in himself, he has character."

On Dan Bentley starting at short notice after Jose Sa's injury: "I want to speak about [Dan] Bentley because [Jose] Sa had the problem with the warm up and Bentley played very well and with character. The fans believed in the team. I'm very happy. Bentley prepared himself for a long time. He wanted to play and he had the chance to play. He works a lot to be ready for this type of situation and he helped us."

Proof that the midweek result was just a fluke, brought about by a red card and tiring opposition players. They didn't get such luck today. Man Utd are a terrible team at the moment.

    Lukasz, Croydon

There’s no goals in the Premier League for this United team but it was a decent performance with several key players rested that deserved a point. They only lost to a great free-kick scored from a blatant dive to win it.

  14. 'Lots of positives'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Ipswich 0-4 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "Really happy with that performance, especially the way we started the game with 11 v 11.

"The first 35 minutes were exceptional. We scored two and could have scored three or four. After the sending off the game changed. We controlled the game well, we lacked a bit of threat but scored two good goals. We rotated players, rested players so a good afternoon.

"There are a lot of positives today from the game."

On Declan Rice: "He can play in the three positions in midfield. I am not thinking about anything else and he was exceptional."

Weren't fans calling for Maresca's head a few minutes back? He's quality and he knows what he's doing. Maresca just doesn't have the proper fit of players.

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to Sky Sports: "We suffered a goal with their [Wolves'] only shot to the goal. They scored a goal and we lose the game. It will be like this, ups and downs and let's finish the season.

On the performances of debutant Tyler Fredricson and youngster Harry Amass: "I think they played really well. We need to score goals so that the kids have better memories."

"These days are really disappointing. We were better than the opponents but if you don't score goals, you don't win games."

  17. 'Five finals to play'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea

    Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was difficult not to have the ball as much as we normally have but even so, they didn't create too much because our organisation was good."

On missing Rodrigo Muniz: "It is what it is. We didn't have Muniz, we didn't have Emile Smith Rowe but this is our squad and we have to respect all of them. With Rodrigo and Raul [Jimenez] ready, when one is tired we have another fit and ready to go.

"Carlos Vinicius has not been playing enough this season and when he gets his chance, he is going to give his heart but it is not the same as players who are playing more. Rodrigo is a big miss for us."

On the rest of the season: "We have five finals to play. We have to face it as it is. We are part of a bunch of clubs fighting for something important.

"This is a difficult one to take. It was a derby and all that stuff but from next Tuesday, we have to react."

  18. Maresca's brief celebrationspublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 20 April

It was curious that after the match manager Enzo Maresca only briefly celebrated with his coaching staff before going down the tunnel.

The rest of the players and coaching staff were wildly celebrating a last minute winner that could transform their season in front of an away support that haven't seen them win on the road in 2025.

It will be interesting to see what the Italian says in his post-match comments about his calm reaction and whether it was about respect after a smash-and-grab win or to do with large sections of the fanbase criticising him heavily.

Surprise win for Chelsea, but based on the remaining fixtures, I still don't see them collecting any more points.
