  1. Maresca loves an early substitutionpublished at 13:36 BST

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca makes three half time substitutions at half-time for the second time this season, having done so at Brentford after the last international break.

The Italian also made three subs after just 21 minutes when going down to 10 men at Manchester United.

Star midfielder Moises Caicedo comes on for Romeo Lavia in what may have been a pre-planned change - given the Belgian has played so little football since June.

However, it is Alejandro Garnacho and Andrey Santos were likely taken off through poor performance to be replaced by Marc Guiu and Jamie Gittens.

This game shall only be remembered for the amount of mistakes by Chelsea & the number of fouls by both teams. Are we really going to see a goal? The subs are definitely going to be needed, if we are to witness an improvement in the second half.

A reminder, Forest have now scored one Premier League goal in 405 minute under Ange Postecoglou. Will they find the net in the second half?

It was encouraging, but all the chances were created by Chelsea's sloppy play.

    Chelsea

For an eighth time in their last nine away Premier League matches, Chelsea have failed to score in the first half. Eight of their last 11 away Premier League goals have been netted in the second half.

  12. 'Forest the better side'published at 13:26 BST

Forest have been the better side for sure. At times Elliot Anderson and Douglas Luiz were the two players that really stood out, they saw a lot of the ball and were involved a lot.

At the top end, you can tell Taiwo Awoniyi hasn't played a lot of minutes, his touch hasn't been where it has needed to be at times. But he's been a handful.

Ange Postecoglou won each of his first six Premier League matches that were goalless at half-time, seeing his team score 14 goals in the second half of those wins. He's since won none of his last seven games which have been goalless at the break (D1 L6), with just one goal scored in the second half of those seven (Spurs 1-1 Fulham in December 2024).

Forget defensive contribution, Garnacho can neither hold nor pass the ball. Overhyped, overpriced and overrated.

Nottingham Forest are applauded off, the supporters appreciating a positive first-half performance.

Taiwo Awoniyi and Morgan Gibbs-White had their best chances but they are missing a goal. Chelsea were sloppy and poor and will be expected to improve in the second half so Forest need to maintain their levels.

Joao Pedro is now getting some more touches, he is dropping quite deep to get on the ball. He is almost one versus one against Morato and he is asking him a lot of questions.

Is this the best 45 minutes of Ange Postecoglou's Forest reign?

The Australian is stood on the edge of his technical area clapping and encouraging his players.

As I type that, Pedro Neto fires over the bar. Chelsea started slowly, were incredibly sloppy, but are finishing the half strongly.

Enzo Maresca knows his team should be at least one goal down, but they could have gone in at half-time one goal up.
