When asked about whether loanee Trevoh Chalobah, who was unable to face his parent club today, could be recalled, Glasner said: "I could see that there was Disasi and Tosin on the bench. I don’t know if you need [another one] if you play with two. I was just reading that Anselmino comes back so they have five. If they need eight? I don’t know what they are planning. Trevoh is doing very well for us and we are planning with him."

When pressed if he heard that it could be an issue, he simply added: "No."

Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "That was very, very close to perfection. We gave nothing away throughout ninety minutes, defended extremely well and then we created chance after chance after chance. It could have easily been more than five and I am extremely proud of this performance in many ways because Southampton are struggling a little bit.

"We haven't won away on the road but the performance we put out there is fantastic and I think it speaks about the culture that we have got in the changing room and among the players. The commitment, the focus, the attitude, wow.

On how his side create chances: "We are always happy when the offensive players score goals because those are the ones who need to be reliable and other players need to chip in occasionally but basically today we played with five very offensive players. Keane Lewis-Potter scored, Kevin Schade, Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo scored two. Mikkel Damsgaard created a lot of chances and opportunities, at least one assist today. We are very dangerous and we had a very good day today."

On Mbeumo and Wissa's chemistry: "Some players can click on the pitch but they have a very good relationship on and off the pitch and you can see that in a lot of the goals today. Our group of players really like each other, work hard for each other and they care about each other and I think that's extremely important."

On how he will enjoy the win: "Tonight I think I will get a very good glass of red wine."

Leicester City

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to Match of the Day: "We were on course to get something out of this game.

"The first goal was a corner in the second phase shot, the second we lost the ball ourselves in a place we shouldn't.

"Overall we controlled the game and didn't give big chances away. That is why it is disappointing we didn't take anything from this game.

"It was a difficult one but we have to make sure we get these performances and convert them into points as well.

"We knew from last week against Manchester City we were in the game and pushing for points. In that sense if we can maintain the level we should convert it into points."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola to BBC Match Of The Day: "We had to be patient, even if we had been in control of the game and pushing them a lot. We've had chances but they have very good centre-backs and goalkeeper, and we couldn't make the difference until close to the end. Probably we should have scored earlier but fortunately this time it hasn't cost us points.

"We wanted to open the game as much as possible but this is tough against Everton. Once they started running out of legs they can even attack you so we can exploit more spaces. That didn't happen until the end and we needed a very good finish with a lovely goal from David Brooks. He has top quality with the striking and composure so I am happy for him.

"We are happy with the run of games, the results and the performances. I think we now play four of the next five against top five teams, who are ahead of us, so I hope we can continue with this level of performance. I don't know if it is enough to beat these teams, but we will try to be competitive with the teams at the top."

Brentford

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think we and the fans have been waiting for a while for our first win away and we worked a lot for it and we are very happy."

"Today we have done a good performance and we just worked really hard."

On trying to get his first Premier League hat trick: "Of course, when you hit two goals, you always want to try and get a hat trick but I just keep working and it is going to come."

On how he is able to get the best out of himself: "It's mental, I just try to run hard, to help my team-mates and I think we are doing really well. We just want to help the team."

On his friendship with Yoane Wissa: "We have a really good relationship off the pitch and that's why maybe we perform well on the pitch."

Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to Match of the Day: "We have to be proud of how we are doing the way with difficulties. The difficulties today were Leicester were performing well and it is difficult to beat them.

"Second half we were getting better, creating chances, not very clear but enough to score the two goals like we did.

"The match with those three points is fantastic for us. We are starting the second half of the season winning here at home and feel the confidence again.

"Those three points today very important. We keep trying to get stronger. Our challenge now is to play two away matches in a row against Everton and Arsenal. I hope we can get enough points to be in the top 10/top eight."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "At the end it's a deserved point. In the first 20 or 30 minutes Chelsea were clearly the better team and deserved to take the lead but in the last 10-15 minutes of the first half we started to play forwards and then we were in the game.

"We were creating chances and everyone at Selhurst gets the feeling 'we're back'. The fans had the feeling, the players had the feeling and it was an excellent goal.

"We were giving them too much of the ball, losing it too quickly, but staying in the game was important and we always know we can score a goal and that's what we did at the end.

"You can feel and see that we are progressing. Having five points from three games is really positive and it's about how quick we can pass the ball and find solutions."

West Ham United

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “ We did very well in a lot of moments above all in the first half. We had very clear situations to score but if you don't take advantage of these options against this kind of team you know you are going to suffer. They were very lucky with the first goal.

"We suffered two goals from two counter-attacks where we have to do better and one goal cannot happen. They have incredible individual players. We had 17 shots they had 10 but it is not about the shots, it is about the goals.

"I don't think about who we don't have. We have to believe in the players we have. They did some very good things but it was not enough. We have to keep the good things the team did and improve in other things."

Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche to Match Of The Day: "A really tight game. First half we were not at the races and I made some changes. I thought we had a stronger performance second half, and asked some questions. Taking our chances has been a challenge since I've been at the club, it still is and was today in those key areas where people are trying to pass it rather than shoot.

"You look at the goalscoring records before I was here, it's been an ongoing challenge. I don't know whether you've noticed but the players to do that cost a lot of money. You have to develop a way of playing but equally it comes down to individuals when the moment of truth comes."

On Armando Broja's injury: "We'll have to wait and see on Armando. He's caught the floor as he's gone to shoot and twisted himself. Jesper Lindstrom picked up a knock as well."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "It's a shame because I think we deserved to win the game, we had so many chances. We know we have to be clinical otherwise the game is always open and we conceded a goal.

"Sometimes you are going to win at the end, sometimes lose and sometimes draw. We were in control of the ball, lost it and then conceded. If we had been more clinical before the goal was scored then the game could have been finished. We had three or four clear chances for 2-0 and to kill the game but at 1-0 they got belief and unfortunately we conceded.

"Josh Acheampong was fantastic for us. We really trust Josh and it's just a matter of the right path for him but he will be an important player for the club.

"When you don't win three or four games it is normal that the rest will come closer to you. In the last four games we have drawn two and lost two so the gap [between the top four] is closer but there are still 18 games to go."

West Ham United

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, speaking to Sky Sports: “I think it is not easy to explain the match today. We did not take advantage of the chances and we have to improve the little details. We are in the moment where this unlucky thing [the first goal] happens.

"The second goal was a big knock for us. The third goal from one counter attack. All of their goals we can do better. After we scored we had good moments again but it is not enough. It is a pity. We regained a lot of balls but the little details and individual actions played against us.

"The message [to the players] is if you don’t take your chances and score they will win the match. The first goal was lucky for them but the second big quality but even then we can do better.

“We have to improve with the moments we have and also be more solid. Today I think we did very good things even if it is difficult to say when you lose 4-1."
