Brentford are winless in their last six league games against Sheffield United (D2 L4) since a 3-1 home win in August 2013. They’ve lost each of their last three against the Blades.

Having won 1-0 against Brentford in the reverse fixture, Sheffield United are looking to complete their sixth ever Premier League double against a side, doing so previously against Everton (1992-93), Chelsea (1992-93), Watford (2006-07), Crystal Palace (2019-20) and Norwich City (2019-20).

Brentford haven’t lost both league meetings against a promoted side in a single campaign since 2013-14 versus Rotherham (in League One). Indeed, the last time they did so in a top-flight season was in 1938-39 against both Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Brentford have dropped 30 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season – only four teams have ever lost more in a single campaign; Chelsea in 1995-96 (33), Wimbledon in 1999-00 (33), Tottenham in 2007-08 (33) and Newcastle in 2004-05 (31).

Sheffield United haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home in the Premier League since May 2021, in a 1-0 win over Everton. They’ve conceded in each of their last 16 away games in the top-flight, at an average of 2.3 goals per outing (36 conceded in total).

Brentford are the side who’ve made the most successful crosses from open play in the Premier League this season (111), while they also have the highest completion rate (26%). Indeed, Mads Roerslev has completed 41% of his open play crosses in the competition this term (22/54); the most of any player to attempt at least 50.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has won all three of his previous league meetings with Brentford’s Thomas Frank (twice in the 2018-19 Championship and 1-0 in this season’s reverse fixture). During his time in English football, the only opposition managers Frank has lost his first four meetings with are Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter.

Ivan Toney hasn’t scored in any of his last seven Premier League starts for Brentford, despite attempting 21 shots (2 xG) and having 36 touches in the opposition box across those games. Indeed, this is his longest run of starts without finding the net in the competition.

Oliver McBurnie has scored six goals for Sheffield United in the Premier League this season and has never managed more in a single campaign in the competition (also six in 2019-20). All of his league goals this term have been scored at Bramall Lane, however, with the Scot not finding the net in any of his last 30 away games in the top-flight.
