Slavi Spasov scored his third goal in four games as Southend swept aside struggling Morecambe in the National League.
Spasov's 25th-minute opener was added to by Ben Goodliffe and Josh Walker as the Shrimpers recorded back-to-back league victories for the first time since August.
Southend went ahead when Spasov – shortly after having treatment on a cut to his face – struck with a low effort from outside the box.
Goodliffe hooked home from a Harry Boyes corner to double the lead in the 40th minute.
Gwion Edwards hit a post in the second half for the rock-bottom Shrimps but the visitors wrapped up a comfortable afternoon in stoppage time when substitute Walker netted his third of the campaign.
