    FT: Midtjylland 3-1 Celtic

On Callum Osmand's injury, Celtic interim boss Martin O'Neill added: "He's pulled a hamstring. He's very young, it's never happened to him before, so he doesn't know.

"He was distraught because I think he was just trying to get his career going, but if everything works out well, he'll recover from that and then start again."

O'Neill confirmed Arne Engels "also felt his hamstring".

  5. Aberdeen 'going in right direction' - Thelinpublished at 20:56 GMT

    FT: AEK Larnaca 0-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin: "The way the players behaved today as a team, the tactical discipline and we got good opportunities in transitions.

"It was two big chances - we had one and they had one at the end.

"We are going in the right direction. We need to keep working.

"[Dylan Lobban] has worked so hard. Sometimes when you get an opportunity, you have to take it and he was one of the best players on the pitch.

"It's important to be in European competition every year and we should never give up.

"Now it's about recovery and doing everything we can to get the players ready for the next game."

  6. 'Tough evening' but Celtic 'show some resilience'published at 20:52 GMT

    FT: Midtjylland 3-1 Celtic

Celtic interim manager Martin O'Neill: "It was a tough evening. There's no question about it. We were well in the game for half an hour.

"We conceded two goals within a minute, or 90 seconds of each other. The game goes away from you very, very quickly. They score a third after seven minutes and it's a long way back.

"In terms of European football, they're a very fine side. There's no question about it. They're strong, physically, very, very strong. It was something I knew anyway because of seeing them a couple of weeks ago.

"Disappointing, but I thought we showed a bit of character in the second half. We could have gone under, it could have been any sort of score, but the players, I thought, pulled themselves together, pulled it around a bit and showed some character and resilience, for want of better words."

Before we turn our attention to the second half at Ibrox, let's get some reaction from the Celtic and Aberdeen camps.

It was a miserable night for Martin O'Neill but a positive evening for Jimmy Thelin.

  8. Best side at Ibrox since Brugge?published at 20:50 GMT

Not for the first time this season in the Europe, there are loud boos from the home fans on the referee's whistle for the break.

I must admit, when Roma scored early and then had a couple of further chances before the second went in, my mind flashed back to the horror show Rangers had here at home to Club Brugge.

The Belgians were three goals up in 20 minutes in the Champions League qualifier. It's not been quite on that scale here, but Roma look the best side to have played here since Nicky Hayen's impressive outfit.

There is much for Danny Rohl to do at the interval. Expect some changes in the Rangers side that emerges for the second period.

This season there has certainly been a huge drop-off, Alex, but this club and a fair few of these players got to the last eight of this competition just last season.

There would be less embarrassment if Rangers weren't in these competitions, they are not in any way shape or form at the level required to compete on the European stage. This is just not good enough and a new manager isn't going to make a team out of this lot.

The Rangers fans are furious Djeidi Gassama hasn't been awarded a free-kick wide on the right.

    And here come Roma...

The move ends with goalscorer Matias Soule curling just wide of the far post.

    Then come the boos.

You can absolutely see how this Roma side is challenging at the top of Serie A.

They're just a point behind league leaders Napoli, replete with Scotland internationals Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour of course.

They're so composed on the ball, have technically gifted players all over the park and have a manager on the touchline in Gian Piero Gasperini who won this trophy in 2024.

What a nice goal that is. Lovely, lovely football from Roma.

No panic, slicing through their hosts. A calm finish into the corner.

It will take a momentum shift of huge proportions for Rangers to get anything from this game now.

John Souttar can't let that happen.
