Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

I think the fans have taken to Danny Rohl, and the performances have improved.

Not massively, but there is improvement there.

  2. Postpublished at 20:02 GMT

    Rangers 0-0 Roma

James Tavernier, playing right side of a back three tonight, equals Andreas Ulmer’s Europa League record for most games played for a single club.

Ulmer played 61 times for RB Salzburg, with Tavernier also on 61 now.

    Rangers tifo

That is one of the best tifos I've ever seen.

A giant Roman gladiator, with the Rangers crest on his shield, hangs magnificently from the Copland Stand.

Fair play to the Rangers support who organised that. The rest of the stadium is pretty full, too.

There's just a section of the upper Broomloan shut, closed for segregation purposes above the sizeable Roma travelling support.

  5. Long wait for home win over Italianspublished at 19:57 GMT

Pop quiz. Name the last player to score for Rangers in a home win over Italian opposition...

You have to go back 26 years.

August 1999. Rangers 2-0 Parma in a Champions League qualifier.

Tony Vidmar got the first. The victory was secured by Claudio Reyna.

Everyone at Ibrox tonight would bite your hand off for a similar scoreline against Roma.

  6. A desperate shellacking for Celticpublished at 19:55 GMT

    FT: Midtjylland 3-1 Celtic

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland chief sports writer

Midtjylland had 23 attempts on goal with 12 on target. That's mortifying for Celtic. They were lacking fight and belief, no aggression.

In its own way, this was as bad, if not worse, than the desperate European hidings under Brendan Rodgers.

At least you could say that PSG and Barcelona had world class running throughout their team and that Atletico Madrid and Dortmund were outstanding.

You couldn't say the same about Midtjylland. They're good but hardly great. This was feeble.

Djiga starting again, just simply wow. Unbelievable - must be in his contract that he starts every game because it simply can't be for his performances.

    Rangers v Roma (20:00)

Roma have only played one Scottish side previously - beating Dundee United 3-2 on aggregate in a European Cup semi-final in 1984 despite losing the first leg 2-0 at Tannadice.

Rangers' most recent meeting with an Italian side came in the Champions League in 2022, when they lost 3-0 home and away to Napoli.

  9. Gassama & Moore start amid four Rangers changespublished at 19:50 GMT

    Rangers v Roma (20:00)

Danny Rohl makes four changes to the Rangers team that started Sunday's semi-final defeat.

In come Max Aarons, Connor Barron, Mikey Moore and Djeidi Gassama, with Derek Cornelius, Mohamed Diomande, Thelo Aasgaard and Danilo making way.

Roma have plenty of quality in their side but are without three key players.

On-loan Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, Argentina forward Paulo Dybala and former Manchester City full-back Angelino are all out.

  12. A sore one for Celticpublished at 19:45 GMT

    FT: Midtjylland 3-1 Celtic

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland in Denmark

Celtic were well beaten in Denmark. The damage was done in the first half.

Midtjylland were impressive, full of intent and talent. That's now four wins from four in the Europa League for them.

It's back to drawing board for Celtic. A poor night in Europe.

  16. FULL-TIME AEK Larnaca 0-0 Aberdeenpublished at 19:39 GMT

Aberdeen secure their first point in the Conference League this season, but both teams will feel they could and should have won it with those glaring misses at the end.

  17. CLOSE!published at 19:38 GMT

    AEK Larnaca 0-0 Aberdeen

And now Larnaca miss a sitter to win it!

Substitute Karol Angielski inexplicably heads wide from eight yards.

    Dimitar Mitov was stranded.

  18. CLOSE!published at 19:37 GMT

    AEK Larnaca 0-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen should have won it at the death.

Topi Keskinen drives forward and picks out Nicolas Milanovic at the back post, but he fluffs his lines by slicing his shot wide with the goal at his mercy.

  19. Osmand blowpublished at 19:36 GMT

    Midtjylland 3-1 Celtic

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland in Denmark

You could see how upset Callum Osmand was from where I'm sitting. He was absolutely distraught.

A touch of class from the Midtjylland manager Mike Tullberg, who offered him a word of consolation as he left the field.
