As heartbroken as I (a Newcastle fan) would be if Isak left for Liverpool, it would be VERY funny if his form immediately fell off a cliff next season - a.k.a. the ol’ Andy Carroll routine

Arsenal are holding an open training session here in Singapore.

It's very rare to be able to watch an hour of a Premier League side's training session.

Some of the squad are in the bottom left of this picture doing their activation work on bikes and on mats on the floor.

All of the grey t-shirts on the pitch are coaching staff. It is always amazing when you see how many members of support staff Mikel Arteta has.

Who does Isak go to though? Arsenal and Liverpool have done their striker business. Madrid have already spent big. Realistically leaves PSG and Saudi? Seems an odd time to say he wants out

  5. 'If Newcastle are to sell Isak they will want top money'published at 10:57 British Summer Time 25 July

    Matthew Raisbeck
    BBC Newcastle Sport

Alexander Isak is Newcastle's star player. He's their main man.

The supporters love him, his teammates love him, Eddie Howe has changed his style of play to suit him and has got so much out of him.

Really what they want is to build their future short-term and long-term around him. Newcastle had been hoping to open contract negotiations this summer with Isak because they want to build their team around him for years to come.

He's got three years remaining on his current contract so they are in a pretty strong position in that respect but they wanted to tie him down for longer and give him a substantial pay rise. Those talks planned for this summer - I don't think they've happened yet. One way or another a decision has to be made - something has to change.

It feels as if Newcastle's hand may be being forced here because if they don't offer him a new deal that is suitable for Isak and his people then maybe a move away will be the alternative and what happens.

If Newcastle are to sell Isak they will want top money because he is a top striker and his value to them is hard to state.

Isak has done this to me on Football Manager many times, knew he was a wrongun but the main message of the story is I continued to sign him. Arsenal should break the bank

I think it's difficult to come back from this for Isak now. He either genuinely wants to leave, or a plea for wages which has embarrassed Howe/the club.

Former England and Newcastle defender Steve Howey has been speaking about Alexander Isak's potential move away from Newcastle.

"Where does he want to be? He's at a club who absolutely adore him, he'll be on unbelievable money, they've won something, they're in the Champions League - it would have to be some club to want to leave for.It just feels a bit disappointing it's come out now," Howey told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"If he wanted away he should have let people know very early on so Newcastle could get business done. You have to agree with the fans' frustration because you have the nucleus of a very good team. It's put both the club and player in a poor position.

"The club don't want a player who wants away and the player's standing with the fans has dropped with not too long left of the window.Lets just try and get a deal done as soon as we can so we can try and get some players in - at least another one or two strikers - before the season start."

Do Arsenal go all out and bid for Isak too? Try and sell Nelson, Trossard, Martinelli, Sambi Lokonga, and a few other squad players to free up funds. Whilst I would hate for Martinelli to leave, Isak is an upgrade!

I might be the only Newcastle fan who thinks this, but if Isak wants to go, let him go. Tell Liverpool £70m plus Nunez and Harvey Elliot. Still go for Sesko and a CB we would be stronger overall. Nunez under Howe could be brilliant.

Still, I do love all of your bold transfer takes, and some of the time they do turn out to be true.

With that in mind. Who's had a good window so far? Which club's transfer business will have aged like fine wine by May?
