    Celtic v Kilmarnock (16:00)

Remember the match at Celtic Park starts in just under an hour.

The lesser-spotted Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is picked to start at right-back for Celtic this afternoon, having only been named in two matchday squads this season - an unused substitute on both occasions.

Interim boss Martin O'Neill makes four further changes to the side beaten by Midtylland on Thursday.

Anthony Ralston, Kieran Tierney, Benjamin Nygren, James Forrest and Arne Engels all drop out.

Marcelo Saracchi starts at left-back, Reo Hatate and Luke McCowan come into midfield, while Daizen Maeda joins Sebastian Tounekti and Johnny Kenny in the front three.

  5. Dundee struggle for possessionpublished at 14:58 GMT

    Dundee v Rangers (15:00)

Rangers have had problems dominating possession - and creating chances when they do - under several managers now.

But they will expect to see most of the ball at Dens Park considering Dundee are averaging 36.1% possession in the Premiership this season.

Since 2019-20, only one side has had a lower ratio in a campaign in the competition, when Hamilton Academical had 35.8% that season.

  6. Will Shankland continue scoring streak?published at 14:56 GMT

Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United (15:00)

Lawrence Shankland will be looking to continue the improvement in form that led to his recall to the Scotland squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers.

His seven league goals mean he is back at the top of the Premiership scoring charts ahead of team-mate Claudio Braga.

The 31-year-old striker has scored in his last three league games and could become the first player to score in four in a row for Hearts since Shankland himself in February 2024.

  8. Nygren and Congreve in fine formpublished at 14:52 GMT

Celtic's Benjamin Nygren and Dundee's Cameron Congreve could be the men to watch this afternoon.

Sweden attacking midfielder Nygren has scored five goals and provided two assists in the Premiership this season - meaning he has been involved in 44% of Celtic’s 16 league goals.

Only on-loan Swansea City winger Congreve has been directly involved in a higher proportion of a side’s top-flight goals this season, assisting five of their nine (56%).

  9. Unpredictable at Pittodriepublished at 14:50 GMT

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell have headed to Pittodrie in sixth place, two spots and four points above their hosts and with a chance of moving up to fourth.

Jens Berthel Askou has already guided his side to two wins, both in September and without conceding a goal, over the Dons, including 1-0 on their last visit to Pittodrie.

While Well are looking to recover from the disappointing 4-1 Premier Sports Cup semi-final defeat by St Mirren, they won their two league games prior to that.

However, while Aberdeen have only won once in four outings, Thursday's Conference League draw away to Larnaka showed promise and was a rare second clean sheet in a row.

Indeed, Jimmy Thelin's side have won three of their latest four league games - as many as in the previous 17 - making this one particularly difficult to predict.

  10. Will Hearts match Burley run?published at 14:48 GMT

Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United (15:00)

Nine points clear at the top of the table at the start of the day, Hearts need another win to match the 32 points from the opening 12 league games achieved under George Burley at the start of the 2005-06 season.

No other non-Old Firm club has matched that since and they will feel confident of keeping the run going given they are unbeaten in eight home games this season, winning seven of them.

Especially as Derek McInnes' side won the reverse fixture 3-2 at Tannadice in August and United have only won once in five outings - and twice in eight away games this season.

However, Jim Goodwin's side won on their latest two visits to Tynecastle last season, both by 1-0, and a repeat could take them up to fifth place.

The Cyprus sunshine feels like a distant memory at what is a perishing Pittodrie.

But there should be a pretty hot atmosphere with Aberdeen saying they are expecting their biggest home crowd of the season.

Hopefully those in attendance will be treated to an entertaining game.

  12. Baningime out for 'a few weeks'published at 14:44 GMT

Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United (15:00)

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes: "Beni [Baningime] hurt his hamstring on Friday in training. He's going to be out for a few weeks.

"It's not a change we wanted to make, but such is life. We need to deal with injuries and have done since the start of the season.

"Big Tomas Magnusson comes in. He has been champing at the bit, getting to know the club and the league.

"We've tried to get him on the pitch to give him a taste of it. Last week, he had a good impact in the game and got a goal. Today is just an extension of that."

  13. Goodwin explains absences & system changepublished at 14:41 GMT

Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United (15:00)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "Will Ferry suffered a slight calf strain against Motherwell and Craig Sibbald came off at half-time with a gash on his shin and needed 20 stitches. So the game has come too soon for him.

"We're going back to playing 3-4-3, a system that served us well. And we're hoping for a positive reaction after a disappointing result at Motherwell."

  14. Will Rangers extend Dens Park run?published at 14:39 GMT

    Dundee v Rangers (15:00)

New Rangers head coach Danny Rohl was given another glimpse of his side's shortcomings with Thursday's lacklustre 2-0 home Europa League defeat by Roma.

However, he has won both his league games in charge - more than Rangers achieved in eight beforehand - and a visit to second-bottom Dundee will be seen as a great opportunity to extend that run and move back up to fourth spot.

Indeed, Rangers are unbeaten in 18 meetings with the Dark Blues, winning 14 of them, since a 2-1 league defeat at Dens Park in November 2017 and have only failed to score in one of their latest 17 visits.

However, while Dundee have only won one of their latest five outings, they are unbeaten in three at home, including a fine 2-0 win over reigning champions Celtic last month.

And they held Rangers to a 1-1 draw in their one meeting this season - at Ibrox in August.

  15. Expectant sell-out crowdpublished at 14:37 GMT

Heart of Midlothian v Dundee United (15:00)

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

It is a case of so far so good for Hearts this season and, with another sell-out crowd at Tynecastle, the home fans will be out in force expecting them to continue their winning run.

The momentum is certainly with Derek McInnes and his players this season.

They have been boosted by some terrific players who joined in the summer and, if they can continue their run of form, who knows what glories will come their way this season?

But Jim Goodwin's United won on both visits to Tynecastle last season and will be hoping to extend that run as they look to force their way back into the top half of the table.

  16. Too close to call?published at 14:35 GMT

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

For all the criticism that has been coming Aberdeen’s way this season, and the praise that has been going to Motherwell, just four points separate the sides in the Premiership table.

The Dons' form has been slowly turning in the right direction and Jimmy Thelin’s side will also be heartened by an impressive 0-0 draw with Larnaca in midweek, but how much has that gruelling encounter taken out of them?

Motherwell, meanwhile, have had the week to stew on their 4-1 Premier Sports Cup semi-final towelling at the hands of St Mirren at Hampden.

  17. 'Leave nothing out there' is Pressley messagepublished at 14:33 GMT

    Dundee v Rangers (15:00)

"I think we've proved this season that, on our day, we can compete with the best," Dundee head coach Steven Pressley tells BBC Scotland, referencing the recent home win over Celtic.

"We are playing one of Scotland's elite teams and it will take a similar level of performance - and maybe more.

"We've got a bit of momentum here - seven from nine points at Dens. Hopefully, we can continue that.

"We've gone with a formula that worked against Celtic and worked at Ibrox (1-1 draw). There's a lot said about tactics, but for us to beat Celtic or Rangers, we need to die on the pitch, leave nothing out there."

  18. Well targeting Dons' Euro fatiguepublished at 14:31 GMT

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou tells BBC Scotland: "Yes, I have [gotten the disappointment of last weekend's semi-final defeat out of my system]. We all have. That's important and we focused on some really good sessions.

"There is a little extra work to do when you lose big games. We needed to address that on Monday and we did that to get it out of our system. Everyone has performed really well.

"The most important thing is that we have experience playing Aberdeen. They were two tight games and they had moments it could have gone either way, but we were sharp enough.

"We need to drive the tempo up, so that we can take advantage of them possibly having fatigue in their legs at the end of the game [in Cyprus]."

  19. Aberdeen 'better now', says Thelinpublished at 14:29 GMT

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "We made some changes over there [Cyprus] quite early, so the players are quite fresh and there's players that can make an impact.

"There's some similarities between opponents, so we have to be good again and show our presence on the pitch.

"When we play at home, we want to show more. We need to try and build something step by step. You can't just fix it, you have to keep pushing in the right direction.

"We have taken some steps, we look better now and more compact and mature in the way we play."

  20. Rohl 'very clear' on way forward for Rangerspublished at 14:27 GMT

    Dundee v Rangers (15:00)

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "You respect the opponent, but of course the expectation is clear - we have to win this game today.

"First, we try to get the three wins in a row in the league. That would be a good start, a good step forward.

"I am very clear in the direction we are going. The last two games [defeats by Celtic and Roma] show us what we need to improve.

"We have to be careful, but I want to see a team on the front foot for 90 minutes."

On the selection of striker Bojan Miovski, the German explains: "We expect a low block and it's important to have players in the box."
