Pape Matar Sarr then bursts through the Roma defence, but his low drive is saved by Mile Svilar.

Now Roma come close as Paulo Dybala fires a low shot from 20 yards. Fraser Forster plummets to his left, and makes a brilliant stop when the ball is almost behind him.

Manchester United are all over the place. Hakon Evjen is unmarked inside the box and smashes a cut-back way over when he really should be scoring.

How on earth are Spurs not ahead?!
A frantic goalmouth scramble sees a covering defender block a Dejan Kulusevski shot on the line. The ball rebounds up, Dominic Solanke tries an overhead kick, but Roma keeper Mile Svilar chucks himself across goal and makes a great save.
This game is thrilling so far.

Countless times under Erik ten Hag they dominated the opening of games, failed to capitalise and then conceded.
At least they scored tonight but Ruben Amorim has already said his side concede possession too easily, which is what caused the first goal and then there was no cover for Tyrell Malacia when the Dutchman was totally outpaced for the second.
Erik ten Hag's team had a habit of conceding goals in quick succession. The trait continues.
It has been a poor, and worryingly familiar turnaround at Old Trafford.
