Hamilton Academical dropped out of the top flight with a whimper after going down 3-0 to Montrose at New Douglas Park.
Jade McLaren opened the scoring for the visitors just before the quarter-hour, turning home a neat ball from Demi Taylor before Louise Brown tapped home from close range to make it two in quick succession.
The visitors made it three from a corner on the half-hour mark, Taylor turning scorer to knock a contested ball over the line.
Accies tried to salvage some pride during the second half, but struggled to find the target in a frustrating second-half showing which confirmed their relegation.
