When we drew Tottenham in the cup, I was buzzing, To see big Ange in the dugout, the tv crew with Wright and Keane and potentially seeing players like Son, Kulu or future stars like Bergvall or Gray at the Lamb ground felt like a dream from where we were even 3-4 years ago when battling as a mid table team in tier 7. Now down to the exceptional management of Andy Peaks, back to back promotions and now in the National League and having a cup run is phenomenal. Sunday will be a remarkable day! Like everything in football, the only sour point was the cost, 2 home tickets to sit you get no change out of £80! But I’d never miss it! Come on you Lambs

  4. Valencia negotiating to take Max Aarons on loanpublished at 11:22 Greenwich Mean Time

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Valencia have made an enquiry to Bournemouth about the availability of defender Max Aarons.

The interest is said to be driven by former West Brom and Huddersfield boss Carlos Carberan, who is now managing at the Spanish club, having faced Aarons multiple times in the Championship.

However, the move would need Valencia's attempts to sign first-choice defensive target Ivan Fresenda, who plays for Sporting, to fall through.

A sudden injury crisis at Bournemouth also complicates the situation with Evanilson, Enes Unal, Marcos Senesi, Julian Araujo, Alex Scott, Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Adam Smith all currently out.

It is a long way from Bromley to Newcastle but this is a great tie for them, even if they are going to end up being beaten.

Newcastle have won seven in a row in all competitions now and while Isak and Anthony Gordon are understandably getting a lot of attention, I've been really impressed by Jacob Murphy

Eddie Howe will make lots of changes but I don't see it making any difference.

A final word from Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on defender Sven Botman's minor groin issue, following his return to the first team after overcoming an ACL injury: "Sven's doing well. There's naturally a build-up of fatigue. It's a big ask for him to play the two games that he did.

"After consultation with Sven and the medical team, he felt he was able to go again against Arsenal. It was a quick turnaround and two high-level games. He was absolutely brilliant in the two games. Considering he was feeling a bit fatigued in his groin in the second half against Arsenal, you wouldn't have known it from his performance.

"He was determined and physical. He's been excellent also when he is on an unnatural side of the pitch. That gives us real food for thought."

  7. 'Wilson could come back at start of February'published at 11:06 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on when to expect Callum Wilson back from injury: "Callum is on the grass today. I don't think he's training with the first team yet, but he's back on the grass and he's making good progress. We are very pleased.

"It's such a difficult situation for him. He didn't feel quite right at the end of the game against Brentford. He went for a scan and the scan picked up a bigger problem than he felt. It meant weeks on the sidelines for him.

"But he's in a good place. He's normal Callum - very, very focussed on his return. And he could be coming back, if all goes to plan, round about the beginning of February. He could be coming back at a massive time for us when we have some huge games."

  8. 'Isak had questions to answer after Newcastle move'published at 11:04 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on Alexander Isak justifying his price tag: "The transfer fee is always a difficult one. If you look at the fee alone, especially for me with my background, it's such a lot of money and I think I'm not sure you can commit to that.

"But then you look at the quality of the player and what he can bring in. I won't say I had no doubts because you always have doubts with new signings, especially when the player is not in the league. There will always be questions marks that Alex will have had to answer.

"But I had vey few doubts about his qualities. Having watched him a lot, he was outstanding and I loved everything about him.

"There's a lovely feeling when he comes through the doors and you are still in love with him after a few days of working together."

  9. 'Opportunity for players to show their quality'published at 11:01 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on rotating the squad and giving fringe players more minutes in the FA Cup: "I was expecting a lot of them to play. They are all good players. But the challenge for us is, if we are making more than three or four changes, then they have to gel together as a team and that's always the big thing. But the way we train and the way we prepare, I don't see that being an issue.

"Then it's up to the players to preform in the way they are capable of. I think it's an opportunity for whoever does play to show their own quality and what they can add to the team."

I'd be more than happy for Moyes to come back in. He established Everton as a top-eight team and quite often we finished fifth, best of the rest. He was often limited financially, which might not be the case in the future, with the new owners and new stadium. He'd have my full support for sure.

  11. 'Guimaraes and Schar could play'published at 10:58 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar returning after serving suspensions in the EFL Cup semi-finals: "They could play. I've got to get the balance of the team right. It's not a simple team to select. I've got to make sure we are competitive.

"I am trying to look at all the players individually and make the right calls."

  12. Liverpool in training today after delayed flightpublished at 10:53 Greenwich Mean Time

Liverpool v Accrington Stanley (Sat, 12:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

A final word from Liverpool boss Arne Slot on preparations for Sunday's FA Cup tie: "We still have to train. Yesterday we couldn't because our flight back from London arrived late, so we gave them a day off as a result.

"We have to wait and see how everybody has recovered today and then we have to make a decision which players we are going to bring to the game."

On academy graduates Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha: "Trey has been in the squad many times, Rio only once. But they are doing really well, when they train with us, play with the under-21s, so as long as they keep doing that their chances of getting their moment with the first team will increase."

  14. Chiesa has to 'compete' with other playerspublished at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time

Liverpool v Accrington Stanley (Sat, 12:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on summer signing Federico Chiesa - his lack of game time and match fitness: "Every game is a chance for everyone to get some playing time, it's not only for him been difficult because all the things you said, in terms of match fitness, also that he has to compete with Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah.

"Everyone knows the numbers Salah brings, there's not many reasons to bring him out and also he is so fit. He was the fittest player that came in pre-season. And he does everything to keep his match fitness.

"So it is not only about Federico with his limited playing time. He definitely has to deal with the way he came in. The rest were already training a lot and we had to bring him in to get match fitness.

"It's a combination of reasons. Let's see how much he can help us because second half more important than first."

  15. 'Dubravka has never said he wants to leave'published at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

More from Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on goalkeeper Martin Dubravka playing despite being linked with a move away from the club: "Martin has never said he wants to leave. He's been a very good professional. Credit to him because it's difficult for a goalkeeper - when Nick [Pope] was playing, Martin wasn't. He had to wait for his chance. He had to stay focussed and ready. But when the chance came, he came straight into the team and he performed.

"His training levels have always been high. Whatever is the weather, he's there."

"I know how much Newcastle means to him. You can see that. He's emotionally very invested. All those things will play a part in his and our decision-making. And hopefully, there's a successful outcome in the end."

  16. 'It is going to feel as if it is a Champions League final'published at 10:39 Greenwich Mean Time

Liverpool v Accrington Stanley (Sat, 12:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the challenges with facing a team from a lower division: "I think every team that plays against us is a special occasion for every team we face, but especially for a lower-league team, so they will be all up for it. They've lived towards this game for weeks probably.

"If you go to a Champions League final, everybody is hyped up and ready and that is for them...it is going to feel as if it is a Champions League final, so we have to be aware of that.

"Nine out of 10 times the first 25 minutes, half hour is the most difficult part of the game because they will still be very intense and it is up to us to be ready for them wanting to play the best game of their lives and that is what we have to do as well."

  18. Slot on Elliott, injury & needing time to get back to his bestpublished at 10:32 Greenwich Mean Time

Liverpool v Accrington Stanley (Sat, 12:15 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Harvey Elliott's return to first-team action: "He's a talented player. He's been with us for so long. In recent weeks, he comes in quite a lot and gets his minutes, but like it is for him and many others, he's in competition with the other good players.

"He was very unlucky, I think after two games, he got injured, was out for a long time and what I've seen now with almost all of our players that have been out for quite a while that in this league - with the tempo, intensity and the quality we have, the other teams as well - it is not so easy to come back and be at your best immediately.

"That is the balance we have to find, to give them playing time to get to their best level, but still be able to win every game. "

  19. 'Not for me to destabilise anything' - Howe on transfer windowpublished at 10:26 Greenwich Mean Time

Newcastle United v Bromley (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on the potential of the January transfer window disrupting their momentum: "I said at the start on the talk of January that we didn't want to focus on any outgoings.

"It's not a month for me to destabilise anything. It's to try and keep the harmony of the group. The feeling in the group is really strong at the moment, as you can imagine.

"For us, we are in a busy spell of fixtures. We are trying to win as many games as possible to continue that form and see where we end up."

I know some Everton fans will fairly be unhappy about Moyes coming back. There are fair reasons to be wary. But realistically we still need safety first before we can push on. Moyes has proved himself in being able to do this job. He literally did it with us with a worse version of this current squad. Not to mention his work at West Ham, which was phenomenal, to go from staving off relegation to winning a European competition. He did also leave Everton in a massively better state than he found it, so he has my trust.
